Weight Loss

Ok, I can not for the life of me figure out how many calories I should be eating daily. I calculated and it says 1200 but everyone on here says that that puts your body into starvation mode. So how do I know what is correct? Can anyone help me?
I've been consistently at 1200 or less for 2 weeks now. Today I ate 1650 and feel like I literally had to FORCE food down my throat. If I'm not even hungry should I be eating?
I'm 5'7 and currently weigh 157. My goal is 125........
Thanks!

i'm 5'7'' 164 and I can't figure out how many calories I need either. CC tells me I need to eat 2000 calories or 1600 to meet my goal of 145. On other websites I have been told that I should eat 1200. If I eat less than 1600 I feel super thirsty and sick all day, but I've been working out and restricting my calories for two weeks and I haven't seen any change on the scale.
1600 would be a good goal for both of you. Make sure you drink a lot of water.
Lynner, maybe you're working out too much and that is bringing your net calories below 1200. The minimum any woman should eat is 1200 plus what she burns beyond "sedentary". That's a rule of thumb, of course, but can help people avoid metabolic slowdown induced by too little intake.

Thanks trustwomen. How did you come to that number? I went and searched other sites and everyone of them is different, as far as my intake. I was quoted anywhere from 1200 to 2200!!!
