Does anyone here wear compression garmets when they run? I have a lot of lose skin in the stomach area, and it makes running uncomfortable. I was looking into purchasing a compression shirt, but wouldn't even know where to shop for such items. I can buy online, but I'd really like somewhere I can try it on and hop around. Any help would be a godsend. Thanks.

I dont run but I had a similar issue with my tummy.  I just bought some ordinary shapewear at walmart.  I dont know if it would give enough support but its worth a try.  They have everything - long leggings, mid thigh, short - long sleeved tops, short sleeve and camisoles.

It made a big difference to me.

If your local walmart does not have it you might try JC Penny.

I've always wanted to try SPANX, but they R expensive!

I wear compression capris/shorts when I run and they are terrific.  My butt doesn't wiggle at all.  :o)  Found them at Land's End.  They are of excellent quality and really comfortable.  For compression tops, try New Balance Web Express (www.nbwebexpress.com).  They have lots to choose from and an excellent return policy should an item not work out.  Also, most running stores would have items you could try on to see if they fit your needs.  Some of the big box stores (i.e. Big 5, Sports Authority, etc.) would have items to try on as well.

Good luck.

UnderArmour is the way to go. You can find them at www.underarmour.com or in stores. They are a little on the pricey side, but sooo worth it. Not only do they have compression garments, but they also have moisture-wicking material. Pretty important feature to reduce chaffing especially in very warm climates. They have both cold and warm weather gear. You can get tops or bottoms. You can get them with or without sleeves even tanks.  I hope this helps.

Hi,

Nike, underarmour, Adidas, they have some compression tops. You can try them on @ Sports Authority, Joe's Sports (they might be only in the NW), just about any sports store has them. However, I noticed you are in AZ so they may not in hot weather places.  One note, try to find ones that have as few seams as possible - for chafing and general comfort. You might want to find compress camisole. I have one of those and I liked it.

Good Luck.

I've come to like running in compression shirts - and I too have loose belly skin and some fat to convert to muscle. I like the fit even with the small "pooch". I buy tham at Walmarts, Academy, Target, Marshalls/ TJ Maxx (can find good buys on Under Armour, Layer 8, and Nike), and anywhere they are on sale! I'm finding that they work best for me both in cold and warm weather because I sweat heavily even in very cold weather. They control body temp better than looser shirts.

Will have to see how well it works for summer morning runs in North TX. I think they wick the sweat better than looser, standard, tek shirts, and I have a bunch of tec shirts and fewer compression because they are generally more expensive.

oh, the red compression shirt in my gallery is from Walmarts - my wife liked the way I looked so much after a long run she took the picture Laughing
