Conceive, Believe, and ACHEIVE!!
This helps me alot! I thought I would share. First, see yourself as you want to be. Close your eyes and really imagine for a second...when is your expected goal date? What is an event happening around that time...or plan a fun event, a vacation or something...Imagine yourself there...thin- at your goal weight. You have to really get the picture in your mind...
When you see it, then get it in your head that it is 100% doable. You can do it. It is simple math, folks. Put out more than you are putting in. So now that whenever you feel like you are hitting a slump (sluggish weight loss or a plateau or lack of motivation) picture your scene in your mind. Remember that is where you want to be!
My goal is set for New Year's Eve. Why make a resolution when I can accomplish it before then, right? ;-)
My new picture as of late is being in FLorida for NYE with my best friend (who still lives there). I have changed my enviroment a few times, but I still have that skinny picture of me in my mind to keep.
I am SO going to hit my goal...

My goal date is set just a few days before Christmas. I want to be able to wear a beautiful mid-thigh length red dress with long sleeves, a light sweater material that softly clings. I want to wear black nylons and black heels with it, and look great. I especially want to attend a Christmas event down here that my parents and I try to make annually, and wear some cute jeans with a white turtle-neck sweater.

Yeah, I try to picture the clothes I will be wearing, and I was thinking of wearing this cute ruffled leather skirt that I bought right before I got preggers the first time and I have never worn it. Never...been sitting in my drawer for 4 years. I tried it on the other day and it did fit. But by NYE if I am 20 pounds lighter still, I dont know if it will still fit.
I guess I will just have to go shopping! :-)

The picture in my head is me wearing the bikini that I was wearing 4 years ago... (at my thinnest)... on the beach in Thailand this October... my boyfriend and I are going to Thailand for 2 weeks and I can't wait to wear all those thin clothes I was wearing when we first met. And, of course, I'm going to buy lots of little silk dresses in Thailand! I've dropped 4 lbs since 7/10 ... will 11 to go to get to 130... maybe even try for that "impossible" 126... lol...
Meredith, I think you just helped me uncover a breakthrough in my diet. My problem is, although I am losing and exercising like a fiend, I let little things, such as oh-so-delicious biscuits and chocolate chip cookies, set me back. In the moment of indecision, I always lose sight of my ultimate goal (bikini, babe!) and succumb to immediate gratification.
Conceive, Believe, Achieve - I think this will be my mantra from now on.
Hahah, my coworker is eating said flakey biscuit, smothered with butter, and I just picture myself, flat tummy and all, in my new brown bikini.
My only cheats (for sanity's sake) - a small spoonful of vanilla ice cream when I get home. Each 1/2 cup is only 120 calories, so it's not toooo bad =). Fewer calories than the biscuit + butter, for sure!

Meredith, you'll probably be too -small- for your skirt! lol Like you said, you'll just have to go stock up on lots of other clothes!
I'm going to University in September and picture myself being confident and happy with who I am. Of course I want to wear a bikini for the first time ever in my life and stuff like that! But my main picture is just of me, happy and independant, and making new friends, without letting my usual inhibitions and hang ups about my body stifle me...
