Conference Help!!!

Quote  |  Reply

Hi  I’m still very New to this site.. I have been on here over a week and have lost 7 lbs. Which is totally awesome! My head is in the game but I'm scared. Because I am leaving for a Conference my work is holding in Chicago! (Which this town is known for GREAT food) It will be long hours and I will have no Internet and limited time to eat. T__T  Not to mention I will be gone for 5 days!

So my question is what kind of snacks will fill me? And are super easy to travel with and low cal?

Good snacks:

JuJu Turkey Jerkey/Apples are a very good snack! No refrigeration needed.

Raw Almonds, walnuts, brazil nuts.

"A" rated Atkins bars.

I'm sure others in our group also have some additional ideas.

Find out what restaurants are in Chicago and go on line and research their menu and what they have to offer. Plan out your trip in regards to eating and you can be a success even if you are at a conference. Also, if you are with others, see if they'd like to split a meal. After being on here for a week, I am positive you understand what the difference between good and bad foods are and will make wise food choices, even while traveling. If they offer crap for munchies, have you own in your purse or briefcase.

Also, when eating out, ask the restaurant if they have smaller portions available in a meal you would enjoy.

On your breaks, don't sit around and have coffee (or smoke if you do hack hack), go out and take a brisk walk. It will help with your activity levels to stay up.

Write down everything you eat and when you get home, log them in on the site.

Have a safe trip!
