I entered my current weight today, because  finally got the courage to do it, and then I see that my weight is actually lower than the trend, so I was happy.

THEN I see the thumb up, and next to it says that I'm going to reach my goal in January 2010, when my diet ends up in October! :S

Can please someone explain this to me?!

Trend is a weighted average (either 10 or 20 weigh-ins). So if you've only got two weigh ins, you're current trend will be the average between those two points. It becomes more useful the more points you have.

The goal date is typically calculated in a very simplistic way - assuming, say, 1lb lost per week. If you have 20 lbs to go from your current weight, it tells you that you have 20 weeks to go (I think that it might change the rate that it expects you to lose weight, but not, as far as I can tell, based on your actual rate or your eat/burn meters).

In other words - don't worry about it too much. Goal dates don't matter that much anyway - what matters is that you are working towards your goal.
