OKay after reading this I believe I understand that I am NOT supposed to be eating my daily goal? Should I be eating at least 500 less? I just started yesterday and I did not eat 700 of my calories so I am hoping this is correct and will be fine. Any help anyone can give is appreciated.
Thanks.
I was curious about this stuff too. I'm wondering what the heck the estimated number and the big number on the activity counter mean...anyone know? and if I'm on a 1200 calorie diet, how much of that should I be burning a day? all or more?
-can you tell I've never counted calories for food and exercise before? HA
Tell me about it- me neither!! :) Below is an answer I got on another forum. I hope it helps you.
You are supposed to eat your daily goal. You should NEVER eat least than 1200 calories if you are female, and 1500 if you are male.
If your bmi says you burn say, 2000 calories, and you want to loose weight, you should eat 500 less than the burn meter, and the goal is supposed to reflect that math.
ie... it takes 3500 calories to add or lose a pound of fat. If you want to lose 1 lb a week, multiply your burn estimate times 7 (days in a week) then subtract the 3500 (1 pound) then divide the result by 7, for how many calories a day you can eat.
Having said that, you could also add more activities to burn more calories, but whichever way you do it, you should not be more than 500-1000 less than your burn meter. ie.. you could opt to eat 400 less calories, and burn 400 more for a total calorie deficit of 800 a day, which would normally result in about 1.5 lbs a week lost.
Is my sodium intake too low?
You have nothing to worry about because sodium deficiency is extremely rare. In fact, there is not even an recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA... Read more
