This is confusing - ideas, anyone?
Hi everyone,
Just thought I would share something that is puzzling me, and wondered if anyone else has experienced the same thing. When I logged into Calorie Count today and did an "Analysis" of my last couple of weeks food diaries, I noticed that ALL the grades had changed!! Previously, they had all been As (although I had thought that was somewhat implausible!), they are now a mixture of Bs, B+s and Cs. I didn't know the grades could all be changed retrospectively but that seems to be the case and has me really confused.
The other weird thing happening on here is that the Calorie Coach keeps pushing back my date for reaching my target weight. It seems to shift forward by a day or so every day I log on, which is really odd. It feels like the goalposts are continuously being moved even though I am exercising a lot and staying (generally) well within my calorie targets for each day.
Anyone have any ideas on these points? Suggestions welcome!
Thanks,
Karen
I haven't noticed that on my account. I wonder if there's something wrong with the database they use for food items. Perhaps they're tweaking it, and things are a bit screwy right now.
Any mods know anything?
I wonder if the date keeps shifting based on you entered weight loss, not on the calories and activities. Are you entering your weight?
I have noticed some bugs with the CC system.
About the grades...my only experience with something like that was a bread whose nutrition info I entered and it came up with a grade of A- for the bread. I had two slices of that bread so I clicked on the plus sign to add it again, but that entry got a B+. Every time after that when I added the bread it was B+. I think it might have retroactively changed the first entry. I guess the CC calculators can be buggy and yes, agreeing with another poster, perhaps they are changing data.
About the date of meeting your goal. If you enter your weight in the weight log it will change. CC picks a rate of weekly loss for you between 1 and 2 pounds I think. Maybe even less-than-one to two pounds....anyway it's a healthy rate of loss. The weights you enter affect the calculator's choice of how much it thinks you should lose. Hence, the goal date changes. I pretty much ignore the goal date. If I lose between one and two pounds per week (I enter my weight in the log weekly) I know I'll hit my goal eventually. I really don't have a deadline. I just want to look good and feel healthy.
Just wanted to thank you all for your comments and suggestions! I think there must have been a bug in it that day, as all my inputs have been switched back to either A, A- or B+ now and the overall grades for each day are back to As. I think perhaps there was something wrong with the site at that point.
auntbubba - I am entering my weight on a weekly basis, and it has been going down for the past three weeks. I have noticed that straight after I enter my new weight, the Calorie Coach shifts the date forward again. During the week (i.e. when I am not entering my weight) it shifts back all the time. So maybe it is affected by calories and activites then "updates" itself once the system has new data, i.e. a new weight. Not sure on this one.
prinzessin_naseimbuch - I have noticed the same as you, that the goal date changes each time you enter your weight in the log. I also just use it as a rough guideline and am not too hung up about it. So long as I am losing, it is OK. Though I gained a bit last week and am not sure why
. Overall I'm happy with my progress though, and happy with the site.
Thanks both!
Karen
What does the Nutrition Report grade mean?
Your Nutrition Report grade is based on the grades of the foods you choose. It is not based on the analysis of your diet. In other words... Read more
