My parents (father mostly) are really into some of them, like the landing on the moon being faked - and yes, he believes it.

What are the latest ones you have heard?

Do you believe it?

The latest one I heard is that the CIA purposely put operates into the Irani populace to create dissension in the recent Irani election.

And no, I don't believe it.

A family member of mine believes the government is out to get him.  Maybe all of us, but especially him.  I don't believe that.  He also believes that AIDS was started by the government as a way to thin certain types of the population.  I don't believe that either.

My parents also believe the government is pushing the H1N1 virus vaccine even though it is dangerous.

I don't beleive that, either.  Not that I trust the government implicitly.  Just have some faith in medicine.

Daughter child has severe asthma that usually requires a hospital stay if she gets the flu.  We all get a yearly flu vaccine.  This year her pediatrician recommended the H1N1 vaccine for all of us as well.  I don't know what I believe on that yet but we are not getting the vaccine.

Why not?

To be honest - if my parents beleive it I automatically don't anymore.  They've spouted such weird stuff over the past few years.

So, perhaps there is a reason to not get the vaccine - I will have to research that further.

I believe the pharmaceutical industry makes treatments, not cures, to some extent on purpose to keep us addicted for life to keep the money rolling in.

this comes from 6 years of antidepressants and the ensuing "discontinuation syndrome" (i.e., withdrawal).

the WD mimics the depression relapse. When I finally found enough people to convince me it existed, I quit the drugs once and for all. The wd lasted 3 months, and after - lo and behold - the depression is more of a dysthymia. I'm still not right, but not suicidal and can get out of bed.

FVCK you, pfizer & company. Fvck you very much for 6 wasted years. (and I also believe this is why I can't get PG now, even though they all say they are safe and no permanent damage)

Landing on the moon never happened.  Do people really believe it did?

Hey!  I saw the movie.  Clearly, it did!

I read a whole book on conspiracies, everything from flourinated water is for mind control to Sirhan Sirhan was brainwashed by the CIA to be an assassin ala Manchurian Candidate.

There is no such thing as panda bears.

I've heard that the military uses actual "alien technology" discovered by the crash at roswell. Is it true? Guess we'll never know.

*wonders if the aliens looked like Mork*

If we were using alien technology that apparently got alien to earth you'd think we'd have a greater military advantage Smile

I just read an article that talked about a push poll from the RNC.  It asked is the recipients were afraid that the Democratic government would "use their voter registrations to deny them medical under Obamacare".  That sounds like a crazy conspiracy theory to me...or just plain old fearmongering.

they still need a beryllium sphere to make it work. and a phalange. and a flux capacitor.

Do you think that the conspirists themselves are conspiring against us to promote confusion and debate what is really real?

Mother Jones magazine has a great recurring column, complete with tin foil hat ratings.  My faves:

Hypnotist in Chief

Operation Couch Potato

I find the "the tea parties are funded by radical conservatives" conspiracy pretty funny myself.

So, where's my check??

What about the Kennedy assassination?  I watched the movie about it not long ago.. and obviously it had a lot of false content and ideas, but I think the theory is interesting and sad.

What does everybody think about the New World Order?
