Will being constipated hinder my ability to loose fat?
I am very constipated and nothing seems to help (I quit smoking 2 weeks ago, which is affecting my bowel movements: nicotine use to stimulate it). I eat a very healthy, fiber rich diet (25 g), drink alot of water and exercise 1 to 2 hours a day. I know that I will actually weigh more being conspitated (for obvios reasons), but will it affect my ablity to loose body fat. Im very stressed and so depressed about this. Please help me. I was really motivated to loose weight and now I just feel depressed about everything...Im still eating healthy and exercising, but feel awfull and it feels like a waste of time.

You need to focus on one thing at a time. If you're constipated you need to fix that because it will make you feel bad. It will not make you gain permanent weight or prevent you from losing fat. Make sure you are eating enough fiber and drinking plenty of water. Take a laxative if necessary.

It's an awful thing, isn't it. I don't think it will effect your ability to burn fat, however, being constipated is probably keeping a little bit of weight in waste. If you know what I mean.
Have you tried any tablets or anything like that? Might help you 'go' if you take something.

Figure out what type of eater you are and you might just find the answer to permanent weight loss.
