constipation from weight gain help!
im eating 3000 calories to put on a few pounds fast, and im really bloated and constipated. my food is prepared for me, so i cant have prunes or fiber cereal or anything. is this common? how long will it last? will the bloating ever subside even though im gaining weight? what can i do? thanks
Yes, it will, but it's different for everyone. For me the constant bloating/constipation lasted about two weeks. I still get more bloated than all my friends when I eat a big meal, but much less so than before (it's been about six months) and I know from people who have gone through this that the bloating goes away eventually, too.
Good luck and happy eating! (Lol, well maybe eventually.) You say your food is prepared for you? How so? Treatment center? Partial program? Family? I actually never went to treatment but for the first couple of months my parents had to make and monitor every meal... Ugh, it was agony!
at a hospital, i go every day to an eating disorders program with three meals and a snack. were monitored and everything etc. its so much food. so all the weight i gain wont make my stomach incredibly more huge? you didnt do anything for the constipation? it just goes away on its own? its just so stressful because im like never hungry and i still have to eat three bowls of cereal, a banana, juice, milk, muffin, and maybe eggs or toast with cream cheese for breakfast and more the rest of the day! its so hard. and i feel like i look fine now, im going to get fat. i want to move on and just realize its not important but its really hard

What is your meal plan like at the hospital???
well, it differs, but ill give you examples:
breakfast 8 30: 3 bowls of cereal with whole milk, banana, 8 oz apple joice, scrambled egg, muffin
or: 2 bowls oatmeal, banana, cottage cheese, milk, 8 0z juice, eggs or muffin
or: 4 pancakes, cereal, syrup, milk, juice, orange, egg
lunch 12 30: 2 slices bread with roast beef or turkey or cheese or ham or peanut butter (3 to 4 tbl) or a combination, a fruit, vegetable, juice and/or milk, sometimes cookies.
or 2 slices of pizza and juice
snack 3 00: muffin and juice, m&ms and milk, banana and milk, cookies and milk, nutrigain bar and juice...
dinner 5 00: example 1: 2 large scoops mashed potatoes, corn, buttered green beans, juice, milk, graham crackers, ice cream and 3 0z chicken
example 2: baked ziti (plate full), milk, juice, ice cream, graham crackers, chewy bar, pudding
example 3: turkey sandwich, plate of rice, juice, fruit cup, orange, oreos
example 4: 2 servings tater tots, grilled cheese, corn, potatoes, millk, juice, and fruit cup
it hurts. please help, i gained 2 lbs in 2 days!
Good for you! I know that takes a terrible amount of strength to keep going with that much on your plate (literally!). We're all been there, more or less. You won't always be eating that much, and I promise you're not going to become overweight. Remember that everything you're doing is just going to make you get out of the hospital faster! (Also, just a point of interest, it's a proven fact that the more weight a person puts on in recovery from anorexia, the less likely they will be ever to have a full-blown eating disorder again. I have no idea how/why that is but it's true.)
