Am I consuming enough calories to lose weight?

Hello- I am hoping someone can help me to confirm if I am consuming enough calories to lose weight.

I am 29 years old, 5 foot 3 inches and 128lbs.  I work out at the gym either utilizing weights (interval training) & cardio (spin class, etc) for atleast an hour 3-4 times a week.  Is 1375 calories enough for daily consumption??? I worry that I am not consuming enough and my body will resist losing the last 8lbs....Any suggestions or information would be of great assistance!  Thanks!Smile

according to phord.com you burn about 2000 calories a day at moderately active. given that, i would eat around 1500 if i were you to yield a 500 calorie deficit and lose 1 pound per week, those last pounds are pesky little suckers that don't want to come off so faster than 1 pound is kind of unlikely since you are already technically in a healthy weight range. be patient and keep at it...they will come off. only 8 more to go...woot woot :)

Sounds fine to me. I am the same hight as you and doing about the same amount of exercise, and I am happy to report that I got down to my goal weight of 120 lbs on an average of 1370 cal a day. I zigzagged a bit, there where days of 1200 and days of 1500 or so, depending on the exercise that particular day.
Of course everyone is different, but it worked for me. As chrissi said, a bit more wouldn't hurt either, but I don't think it's too little.

that is wonderful news! i am the same way, sometimes I consume a mere 1200 and other days roll to 1400!~ there is hope!!  I am envious of the people that there last 10lbs just drops for them, that hasnt been the case for me.  So I am trying to be as focused as possible!

This post was very encouraging. I really want to get down to 120. I went a little crazy over the weekend and I gained weight 134 lbs. I was at 131 a few days ago. I know its probably a lot of water and some fat, but I'm going to try to lose it back so I can be back within my ten pounds to lose phase. Its so hard! I am 5'4" and I work out 4 to five times a week. crazy cardio. I think I am really carb sensitive thoughUndecided. I have to stay away from bread.
