Good Morning!  Wow Brwnize1967 Great Job!

I was getting all upset because for some reason, I thought all week I weighed 215 at last weeks weigh in and this week I weiged in at 216 so I was pissed and thought I gained a lb. But I really weighed 218 last week and droped 2 more lbs!

Tannis hang in there, I bet your hard work will catch up soon.  Don't give up!

This is our 3rd week together and I am so glad we are all still in the running.

Keep it up!!!!!!!!!

Is it ok if I join in, I know it is a few weeks into it already but if I had something to compete in maybe it would help.

Starting competition today: 3-30-09

SW: 232

CW: 232

Hieght 5'7"

Measurements: do not have yet.

Thanks,

Debbie

Hey way to go Valrocks, keep up the good work and stay strong week 3, were getting closer. Have a great week.Smile

Welcome debster863, your more than welcome to join. My biggest piece of advice on losing weight, since I've been doing it for a while now, is to be patient and ask for advice when needed, along with support and all that other jazz, but were here to help. Good luck to ya.Smile

Hey Gals!

It's great to see that everyone is staying on track! I'm doing ok for the most part. Lost about 2lbs this week or something like that. My start weight was actually 175lbs and now I'm 172/171 My TOM is coming up :( so I think i'm starting to retain some water.

I'll be putting up my measurements tomorrow morning.

I'm so sick of being in the 170s! I haven't been up this high in almost 2 years! And that was because I gained all of this muscle from running, so I was actually in much better shape, and size than I am now. Like I was a skinny 10, and got tons of compliments. Ugh!

Today was good though. Went to the gym, staying within my calorie limit. I injured my right quad though...not good!

Happy Tuesday eneryone,

How is it going?

I got up 5:30 to exercise!! I am so proud of myself, I always said "I can't get up early" well now I have and I like it. No kids to interupt me, fall oveer me or frustrate me. WHOOHOO.

Plus I am Hyped!!

Have a great day!!

Debbie

Debster863, great job on getting up and working out. I wish I could, I am just not a morning person, even though my cat is, he wakes me up every morning right around 5:00, I should just get my yazz about of bed and go work out, but instead I just push my cat away.  I still get my excercise in, my husband and I are constantly doing other things, (I don't mean that, well sometimes. lol) we cut wood, redoing our basement, cleaning snowmobiles, always something. But need to get back to the gym and he agrees. Just hate this nasty weather were having. Keep up the good work, have a great week.

Valrocks40, I love your pics, your kids are adorable. I'll try to get some on, Im not real computer savvy, always need my husbands help when it comes to the computer.  Have a great weekSmile

Everyone is doing so great! Its keeping me going. I was on this site last year but slowly faded away and stopped looking...Then I porked back up. I was suffering from a 6 yr ED so I wasnt in a healthy place for advice. I would like to add I am one year " Healthy" :) Thus gaining weight- but now that I have little girls watching me and looking up to me(sister in law's) I could never let myself go back there. Ever.

I signed up for a gym class with my soon to be mother in law. I have never done a class, so I'm nervous that I wont be able to keep up with everyone - and I am painfully shy. So Im glad to go with someone!

I have been wondering where everyone is from? I am currently in Edmonton,Alberta Canada eh . I see Val is riding her bike around, sooo that tells me right there you must not be in Canada- Its calling for more snow today :(

Wow, valrocks, you are on FIRE, girl!!  How are you doing it?!?  And congrats as well to all the other 'losers'!

Debbie, nice job on making yourself get out of bed and exercising!

Tannis, I feel your pain of not losing as fast as you'd like, but you are looking great and are still losing, only if it seems like a little.  A word on gym classes: I, too, started doing some TurboKick cardio classes at my gym and at first I felt awkward, but I really don't think too many people were paying attention to me, they are more absorbed in doing the right thing themselves to worry about me messing up a step or so.  And certainly no one made fun of me. It should be easier having your mom with you, too!  Good luck!

Nice work, brwnize1967 for having a good week, too!

noka_poka_dot, don't fear, you are getting soooo close to getting out of the 170s, keep at it and soon they will become the 160s!

I am reporting a gain this week (I just got back from vacation in Florida, so of course it went up.  Hanging out with my not-so-healthy-eating parents is part of it, and saying the heck with my diet for 6 days is the rest of it).  Although I am not happy with my choice to 'misbehave' eating-wise, I am not going to get too upset.  I don't really feel that they are 5 'real' new pounds, and I think 'til next Monday rolls around I can be back below the dreadful 200 mark.

I just need to be very vigilant with my calories and keep doing what exercising I can.  I strained some back muscles 3 weeks ago playing ice hockey and am supposed to limit my exercising (if it involves the injured muscles) which will not be easy for me.  I am doing PT, and they weren't too happy with me when I told them I will be playing ice hockey this weekend (we have playoffs and as the goalie I can't not be there).  I didn't tell them that although I will skip my cardio classes, I refuse to skip Tae Kwon Do.  I will just try to not overdo it.

start wieght: 198.5

week 1: 199 (+ .5)

week 2: 198 (-1 for the week, - .5 overall)

week 3: 203 (+5 for the week, +4.5 overall) Embarassed

Keep up the good work, ladies!

I am curious; how do all of you plan out your calories for the day?  If your allotment is, say, 1200, do you figure, OK, eat 3 meals of 400 cal and leave 400 cal for snacks?  Plus, how do each of you do your activity setting?  Do you pick sedentary and add in exercise, or knowing that you work out 3+ times a week with moderate intensity, do you move your setting up to moderate or whatever?

I'm trying to find a way to overhaul my plan.  When I first began CC, I used sedentary and added in exercise, but I wasn't doing more than 2 days a week and it was always the same exercise regimen, and I lost 17 lbs.  In the meantime, winter arrived and I also slacked off with the calorie counting but increased my workouts, adding a variety of activities. Now I work out usually 4 (formally) and sometimes more or have added activity on the weekend.

What do YOU do?

Melicious15 hang in there! at least you have been below 200.  Oh I can't wait for that milestone, I haven't been there for over 6 years.  You have a good excuse, Vacation.  You will get back on track!

As for your questions I am still pretty heavy and I have read that the more you weigh the more calories you need to consume, so I am eating between 1800 and 2000 calories. I am working out everyday as well.  Usually my work out is elliptical for 30 mins and a late night power bike ride. 1 mile as fast as I can pedal around my neighborhood.

Tannis I live in Washington State and the weather has been in the low 40's but I still get on my bike and go full speed.  Where is SPRING?????? At least it is not snowing:)

Welcome Debster, great job getting up at 5:30 and working out!

Thanks for all of the encouragement.  Stay strong!

Here is my weight for Monday. Just now getting around to logging it. This week has been a complete mess! Saturday we had a big storm come through with tornadoes touching down very, very close to our town. My husband, children and I went to go get in my husband's grandmother's basement and I was driving, I could not see because it was raining and hailing so bad, so I pulled over so my husband can try and drive. When I got out I was it in the head with a huge piece of hail (it hurt like hell)! I later on went to the ER because, it started to swell so bad that I could not hear out my ear...luckily all my test came back fine.  Still a little sore. My new car got hail damage and my husband's truck got a lot of hail damage. I had been a little sick with a sore throat before the storm issue and by that Sunday my voice was completely gone! Just now started to get my voice back this morning.

But, after every storm there is a rainbow that brings with it many smiles. I just got news yesterday that my youngest brother (I have 3 of them) and his wife is going to have a baby. My little brother (even though he is 22 I still consider him my little brother) are very, very close. He is in Ft. Leonard Wood, MO right now training for the US National Guard.

Anyways, enough of my drama! I am so glad to see the progress everyone is making! Keep up the good work!

Are we going to have a goal date. Meaning should we set a date to maybe reach our 10% goal and so on. If not I am cool with what we are doing....just going with the flow!

Starting weight - 221

Week 3 weight - 217

Once again only lost 1.  School work is starting to slow down so I am really going to try and stay on track and get some exercise in this week!

Keep it up pals!

Where are you from, jat_145?  We had a tornado (near where I live) and hail (where I live) on Sunday, too.  I was in FL on vacation, but my brother emailed us pics of the huge hail and I read about the tornado the next day in the paper.  That is crazy about your ear, I'm glad to hear everything is OK, and congrats to your brother.  Nice job with losing a pound, too!!  Keep it up!

Not to overshare....but my period has vanished. Anyone else? I can't even REMEMBER when my last one was. I have taken 3 pregnancy tests, all negative. The doctor is sending me for blood work to make sure 100% . I have seen on this site that changing your diet sometimes makes this happen...anyone else out of whack?

I have also been dreaming of a teen burger. Sweet jesus.

So its monday.

I have accepted the mass slowing of my weight loss

Last week: 181.0

This week:180.0

Still on that treadmill an hour and a half, weights and now the bike.... Slowly but surely. And today I start my ' total body' class at the gym. Good luck everyone and hope you have a wonderful day!

Nice job, Tannis!!  Hey, a pound lost is still a pound lost, which is always better than a pound gained!  As I often say, all the extra weight didn't go on overnight, or even in a week, so we can't expect it to safely come off in a week or a month, either.  Keep at it, you are obviously doing things right!  Keep your goal in mind.

Here are my stats for this week:

start weight: 198.5

week 1: 199 (+ .5)

week 2: 198 (-1 for the week, - .5 overall)

week 3: 203 (+5 for the week, +4.5 overall)

week 4: 199.5 (-3.5 for the week, +1 overall)

Seems like my weight has stabilized after vacation.  I need to stay on track to continue the losing trend!  Maybe this weekend I will get the bike out on the road for the first time this spring, man, I'm so ready for warmer/nicer weather!  It figures, it was wonderful weather this weekend (all but the insane wind on Sat.) and I was inside playing ice hockey for our league's playoffs/championships.  Oh well, there will surely be more nice days coming soon!

Hope everyone has good numbers to report, good luck to all!!

Hello everyone,

How is everyone doing. I started to get up early and exercise and so far it has worked out well. I have not skipped a day. I am working the three days per week and one on the weekend with the kids, either bicycle riding, kickball or basketball. This weekend was kickball. They slaughtered me but I got in some good exercise. Laughing

SW: 232

CW: 228 (-4 for the week \ -4 total)

Hieght 5'7

Good luck to everyone!!

Debbie

Ok so I'm really late in posting this, but never mind...

Mondays weigh in came in at 146 so back at start weight (although I think I was a little optimistc with the first value)

I suppose its better than a gain!

I'm trying to re-evaluate at the minute. I was frequently eating less that 1000 cals a day, and felt bad if it went above 800 really, so I've spent this week trying to stay 1000-1500 cos I know people say eating to little halts progress. I'm going to see what happens with weight loss this week, but I'm not too optistic. It seems counterintuitive that you would lose more if you ate more. Surely eating less forces your body to take energy from fat reserves. Even if your metabolism did slow a little (I've read it rarely slows by more than 10%) if your cals are low enough your body will seek fuel from fat instead...

I don't know what i think. I actually want to cut cals to <800 if 'm honest, but exam season is on its way so I know i need brain fuel!

Hey ladies, better late than never, sorry did not check in on Monday. Well here goes, I stayed the same. I was bummed, I ate 100 cal less than I did the week before, activity was just a little less and I stayed the same. I have been doing so well with CC, so I was quite bummed when it didn't go down.

On top of everything I was really bummed, because I have been doing WW as well, and on 4/8/09 was my anniversary date of going to WW and I was so hoping to hit my 10% goal in one year and it didn't happen so I didn't go to WW on Wednesday. Im going on Friday just to bite the bullet and see where Im at. Im hoping that it has to do with Aunt Flow (TOMM) being in town this weekend. So we'll see what happens this week.

Debster great job, hang in there ladies we'll get there. Ladies have a great week, it's almost over. yea. Be back on Monday.

Hey where's the rest of the ladies at, where's everyone at, good or bad?

What is happening?????? I too am late on logging in... I guess it is because what happens to me after the third week has happened again.

I have lost momentum.. What do? We are all in the same boat. I can see we all have the same pattern. We need to work together to keep ourselves on track. We are our own worst enemies. I was so ashamed to log in this week cause I gained 1.5. What will make this vicious cycle stop?
