Happy Easter! What I do to keep myself going is to truly remember I am human. When I was not loosing as fast as I would like I decided I need a break. So for the last few days I have barely exercised. And instead of saying No to every delicious meal I want, I say yes - to a bite. It helps beat the cravings.
Another thing, I took a photo of myself at my current state, it is very unflattering...when I start to have thoughts of ' why bother, Id rather be fat and happy' I look at the photo and remember I'm not happy this way either.

I managed to get myself caught up in all the Easter excitement and ate a whole Easter egg. A big one! 1054 cals!!!! Whoops.
I felt thoroughly sick afterwards.
Hopefully, now the festive chocolate binge urges will be out of my system and I'll be okay for next week.
I'm feeling optimistic about tomorrow (I sneeked a look at the scale). I hope you've all had a successful week and get some nice surprises tomorrow

Valrocks, I know you will get back on track for this week's weigh-in. A minor slip-up one week isn't so bad, especially when you look at the great success you have had so far! Tannis, it sounds like you are doing what is right for you, too, and your motivation of knowing what makes you happy is important. Only you know your body best. Malomadame, I hope the gigantic egg didn't derail you! :) Keep up the hard work, ladies, I know we will get there. Keep up the words of encouragement for each other, that is what this thread is for! And keep our goals in mind: healthier, lighter bodies.

Hey all, hope everyone had a nice Easter. Ours was pretty uneventfull, which is good. This year we gave the kids a card with money it it and a small box of jelly beans told them we talked to the Easter Bunny and decided to give them money instead of candy so they can buy what they would like, it went over pretty good. We didn't have a big Easter Dinner which is probably good, otherwise I might of pigged out. As of my weight I really don't want to officially weigh in because Im on my period now and Im up again But here goes anyway..

Even though my period is here, Im not really happy about what is going on, last week I stayed the same and this week Im up. Im not eating anymore than I did when I was losing, actually I think Im about 100 cal less than what I was eating and still doing same amount of exercising, I know about plateauing all to well but after 3 weeks, what the hell, so Im not a happy camper lately. I just don't get it, Im eating alot less than Im burning, and eating right. Anyway, enough with my pitty party....
Malomadame, we all have those week moments... damn egg.lol. Chalk it up to a bad day, and you'll have a great week this week, you seem to be doing pretty good.

Debster863, wow 4lbs, boy do I miss those days. When I first starting losing weight thats what I was doing. Now Im struggling, are you still working out? Remember, don't get out of the habit of tracking, I know it's a pain but it keeps in check, but if this is working for you, great. Keep up the great work.

Im very frustrated also, with last week staying the same and this week going up a 1lb, I almost want to say the hell with it, but Im NOT going to throw the towel in. Hello ladies, well here I am frustrated as all hell. I went in weighed in at WW yesterday and Im only down .2 last week I was up .8. I don't get it, I am eating less than I am burning but I am not losing. This is the part where I lose it, I was so frustrated last night I went to Mcdonalds and ate a Bic Mac and fries, and boy did it taste as good as I remember. I just don't understand I am eating about 6000 cal. less than I am burning so that should equal out to about 1 1/2. Im so frustrated that I also went and bought Cylapril (suppose to help with weight loss) it works with the adrenal system. I thought I would give it a 30 day trial. I have a really wacky metabolism, so I hoping that this might jump start. I don't know what else to do, and Im not giving up. Any suggestions out there? Hope everyone is having a better week than I am.![]()
Oh I understand the frustration!! So here is my view....I was doing the same, eating less than I was burning. So Id eat maybe 800 calories a day, then work it all off and then some...So for a few weeks I was dropping pounds all over the place. Then ...It stopped. Completely. I was barely eating, exercising my heart out and nothing was changing. Makes you pretty angry and sad at the same time doesnt it? You are starving for food, sweating a ton and then waking up to the same weight, if not higher. Its really annoying.
So what I did was completely stop. I stopped exercising, and stopped counting my calories for two weeks ( this doesnt mean I ate like crazy, It just means I didnt worry over every calorie) and guess what happened, I started to lose again. My body needed more calories, its not a life style i could maintain, 800 calories then burning the same, I was so miserable and no one wanted to be around me, i was over the top moody!!
Our bodys get used to what we are doing, plain and simple. And sometimes our systems need a break . And especially, need more calories.
My advice is to have a mini break, maybe for a few days skip the work out. See what happens on the scale.

Yes, I have had those moments. I would be SO ANGRY I'd cry. Then I would cry my eyes out for the whole day while vowing if this is what its going to be like then im just going to live at mc donalds and eat everything I want. . . or not eat at all.
Instead after searching all over this web site I said a big FU to the busting my rear on the treadmill and then just upped my calories. Let me know what you end up doing! Good luck
Tannis86, thanx for listening. Im going to try and upping my calories by 200. Instead of eatiing 1650 Im going to try to eat 1850, which is going to be hard because I have a hard time eating the 1650, and then when I do, I feel like Im eating too much. I've been down that cryin road, I don't know how many times I've cried of frustration and not knowing what Im actually doing wrong. Everyone at work thinks I should be a size 2 by the way I eat, I eat very healthy and with my husband and I are very active. We snowmobile, cut wood, lawn work, fishing, constantly doing something, so I may not make it to the gym but I stay active atleast 5 days out of the week.
I hope this works. Thanx for the luck, I think Im going to need it.

So this week was another bad week for me. My flat mate accidentally ordered 5 bags of bananas instead of just 5 bananas so decided we should make desserts to use them up....
So weve had banoffee pie which was about 400cals a slice (i had 4) and chocolate and banana cheesecake which was about 500 (!) cals a slice (I had 4). Ok so i have no will power. I had two slices of cheesecake for breakfast so im alreading sitting at 1000cals for today. Its almost kindof made up for in that i went for half hour runs (well, walk/jogs) thur and sat, and am going again today, and i went on a 4 hour walk yesterday (although that may have been cancelled out by the pubstops).
Ahhhhhhh! I really am pants. Must be super super good this week. Apart from the remaining cheesecake and 2 digestives i dont have any junk food left in the flat though.
Despite all this the scales still went down! Woop!

Thats -3.4 since I joined this group but -27.4lb since I joined calorie count. I cant wait til I reach the 30lb mark! It always astounds me when I catch myself in the mirror now and I don't look like me! I cant get used to this. It freaks me out seeing my thighs not touch!

This week I'll go back to eating my 1650 a day, don't want to push my luck. Thanx again Tannis for hang'n there for me. It worked, yeah, I think your right sometimes your body just needs those extra calories in order to jump start the metabolism, hopefully this worked, we'll see about next week. I really can't wait unit Wednesday is when my Weight Watchers weight in is, to actually see if I actually lost officially.

Hey ladies! I'm ba-ack! Sorry I wasn't around to help add some support, but I was in Montreal, Quebec for a hockey tournament. And besides, apparently what you each did to get through your frustrations worked!! I weighed myself this morning and the scale told me 198.5 (which is up a pound from last week), but I am not convinced that is an accurate number. My body is still trying to re-adjust to the usual routine of healthy eating and getting enough to drink. Four days of mixed up sleeping/eating/drinking/exercise routines has me AFU!!
You guys are amazing, losing weight like you are! Nice job to all three of you, tannis, brwnize and malomadame! Woooo hoooo!
Melicious15, hope your hockey tounament went well. As for the weight thing, your body is probably confused and will settle down for next week and you'll have a great weight loss.
Tannis86, your my hero(LOL). I went in today and weighed in at Weight Watchers, I lost 2.6 this week, which put me at my 10%. What that means is I've lost 10% of my bodyweight since I started WW, which was a year, 2 weeks to lose 24 lbs. I'll take it, I was thrilled, thanx again Tannis86.

Hey all, Yeah I think we are down to 4 people left ? BOO
How is everyones week. I havent been eating as well as I should have but my cravings have been wild, and I feel that if i am craving something SO BADLY then my body must be missing something. Ill never stay on the wagon if im overly strict. . . I have been more hungry than usual. I think it may be from a new hormone from my birth control. I am trying to lose slower...I think even tho i was SO FRUSTRATED with only 1 pound a week, that the only way i will KEEP it off is if it slow. I dont want to get to december and then PORK it and gain back weight before my wedding.
Looking into buying a home. . . sigh... I dont know if im ready for all these adult things in life!
