Cooked brown rice
The package of rice I bought says that 1/4 cup of uncooked rice = 167 lbs.
So how many calories is 1/4 cup of cooked rice? I looked all over internet but people are saying a bunch of different things.
The brown rice I have says that 1/2 cup uncooked is a serving; that makes 2/3 cup cooked rice. So, 3 servings of rice is 2 cups. You are having 1/4 cup of cooked rice, which is 1/8th of 2 cups. My box says one serving is 150 calories, therefore 3 servings is 450. 450 divided by 8 equals 56.25 calories in 1/4th cup of cooked rice. Even if your rice has different calories the math should hold.Hope this helps. Although I am sure there is an easier way to get the answer that I can't think of.
Well, based on my bag of Jasmine rice, it claims 1/4 uncooked = 1 cup cooked. Maybe, then, 1/4 a cup of cooked rice = 167/4, or... I hate math... 41.75 calories?
Laugh out loud, laugh out loud, laugh out loud! Truly an error in the question asked. Not 167 "lbs", but 167 "calories".. Geeze.. hahaha
Biophilia84 & Airlily - Math is truly not MY best subject.. just so confused.

I am assuming that different kinds of rice swell differently. Could you measure your rice before and after? Or, what does your package say 1/4 cup uncooked rice turns into? That would help the calculations a lot.
The thing is it just says 1/4 cup of uncooked rice. Not much help at all there, when I make 1 cup of rice according to cooking directions. Next time I'm going to count every grain.
Generally, 1/2 C of cooked rice = 100 cal, for round figuring. Nutrients will be different, of course for brown, white , or "wild" rice. White rice doubles in volume, brown rice can swell 2 - 21/2 x, while wild rice can swell 2 - 3x. Hope this helps.
Thanks... so therefore 1/4 would be about 84 cals. Thanks.
