Today I've eaten 1,200 calories.
If tonight I binge on 1,200 calories worth of cookies, and fast the next day, will I still lose weight?
Are there drawbacks?

What is the point? Cant you just eat two or three cookies and not worry about it?
No, I don't have enough self control.
I think I'm rebelling against myself. I don't know. I hate it when my body craves something and I feel no control.

eat veggies with a healthy low fat dip---it can be good i swear
Eat a bag of broccoli and then have a few cookies...hide the bag from yourself, lock it away in the trunk of your car and put the key in some awkward spot.
thats an even better idea, whipple
The best thing you can do is not buy them and not bake them.
And in all seriousness bingeing followed by fasting is not healthy, and is a sign of an eating disorder.

no, fasting one day will not do ya any good, when you binge like that, it throws your metabolism out of whack, and it takes 3 days for it to come back around, fasting will cause more problems, as your body will go into starvation mode after, and store any and all fat you take in.
Dont do it, I find icecream or frozen yougert from TCBY to be an ecellent alternative, its still not good, but one good bowl and your sated, its worked for ALL of my friends.
it also sounds like your being a bit too militant on your body, instead of going on a cookie binge, treat yourself to something decent, something you normally wouldnt eat, or just go out with friends, they always go to the worst places, order something on the healthy-ish end, something you will feel naughty for eating but not terrible.
your body does need a treat from time to time or it WILL rebel against you. and I notice after a nice treat, sensible ofcourse, the next few days I end up losing a bit extra, like my body thanking me.
just dont overdo it, once every 2-3 weeks is ok, every other day is bad, and a double whopper with cheese is right out. try eating something that maybe wasnt healthy, but not bad, that you used to eat thinking it was healthier than you used to eat but you thought tasted terrible, OH MY GOD will it blow you away!
I used to hate wheat thins, nasty flavorless things, after I went on my diet, going vegitarian for a month, then off then on just to confuse my metabolism a bit and shake it up, I was at a party and grabbed a pawfull of wheat thins, didnt know it, I started munching, not paying attention, I loved em, and was shocked when I saw what it was.
healthy food isnt flavorless, giving up really unhealthy food is like giving up smoking, everything starts to taste alot diffrent, things smell wonderful, you appreciate a well made salad, and understand why the local veggie grill charges 14$ for it =P
hang in there hun, this roo is rootin for ya!

also, try varying your diet more, trying new things, trust me, when your dying for something other than the crap you've been eating, and you pick soemthing at random and munch down, you will appreciate it more.
0kay, thank you all so much for pushing me out of this insanity!
I didn't even know the calories in the cookies, and I just looked them up. They're way high, and it's totally not worth eating. Plus it would be a bad idea, now that I'm thinking rationally. This guy I know is having his graduation party tomorrow, and if I was fasting I'd be all tired and grumpy around him. And that's just selfish on my part too.
I'm just going to have a banana instead. 0r something that I can handle. Thanks guys.. :]

*steals your cookies and tosses them at a few people he met at the last furry con*
hun, stay strong but flexible. watch your proportions, and whats in your food, remember, there is an allotment that the body does need per day, and so long as at the end of the day, everything adds up properly, your doing good.
try what I suggested, it makes dieting ALOT easier, I dropped 90lbs over 12 months and I am a lazy roo =D

There is a new book out called The Beck Diet Solution by psychologist Dr. Judith Beck. She teaches many specific psychological techniques to help us manage our Cravings. Things like deliberately leaving some of your favorite food on your plate, and how to manage Cravings versus actual Hunger, which are NOT the same thing at all. Here is a thread about the book. http://www.calorie-count.com/forums/post/4497 2.html
I have been able to manage my Cravings for over a month now using her specific techniques. Its possible to learn how to manage cravings, just likeany other Impulse in psychology.
I even got to the point where I could put one of my favorite Craving foods in front of me (KFC) and practice NOT eating it. Do that a few times, and it does kill the craving, and teaches you that you don't have to give in.
