at the store, what are the best cookies to buy? ( lowest calorie with best taste) or would it be better to buy fig newtons vs cookies?? are those even healthier?

Most cookies at your typical grocery store are made with way too many preservatives. A lot of the ingredients are things you probably don't want in your body. And I'm talking about most cookies from Fig Newtons to Oreos. Even if the package says they are Light or Low-fat they are still nutritionally invaluable.

However..Of course you can't live your life being in fear of the cookie isle every time you go to the grocery store! Just be more concious about your choices. Opt for organic-type cookies that are minimally processed. You can probably find these items at a health food store. Look for lower sugar products. Or better yet make your own healthy cookies using fresh ingredients. There are plenty of recipes out there that cater to your dietary needs.

Voortman has some Flax Seed cookies that you might want to check out.  They're a good size, but 90 calories each.  They taste just about how you would expect flax seed cookies to taste.   I justify one a day by saying the flax is good for me. 

South Beach Diet makes peanut butter cookies, and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.  They come in packs of 2 cookies for 100 calories, and they are high in fibre. Very tasty!

i LOVE the puffy animal crackers (the kind that come in the big bear)-cinnamon flavor! they're not nutrient- rich, but 16 are only 120 calories and 1.5 g of fat :P happy snacking

If I'm having little visitors who might like a cookie, I get animal crackers from Whole Foods Market.

There's always those 100 calorie pack Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookies from Trader Joe's. They're the hard little itty bitty ones, wish they were soft batch. Mmm.

I buy Gingersnaps (Mr. Christie).  For 110 calories you can have 5 cookies.
