Ok so I'm a college student who has lost 30 lbs so far but I'm always looking for cheap meals that a college student who doesn't like to go all out can eat that are low cals. I'm not all freaked out by high salt etc unless it's insanely high but I eat low calorie. Anyone got any ideas? I shop at walmart so I need to be able to get everything there, and I live in a townhouse so I do have an actual kitchen I can cook in. Let me know Thanks!

I love ReadyPac Bistro salads.  They're pretty low in calories and are very tasty.  I'm pretty sure they sell them at WalMart.  They are single serving salads.  :)

look up recipes on here... there are tons!... and i keep adding more lol... like i just added cheddar turkey burgers today... yuuuuuummmmmmyyyy! Just enter an ingredient you have into the search... just make sure its on recipe and not food lol. I also added some healthy chocolate muffins too ;)

At Walmart, look for Goya brand canned beans.  They are much cheaper and better quality than other brands, although you may find a local brand cheaper.  Buy some brown rice and make some combinations of beans and rice.  It's very cheap, low calorie if you control your portions, and very nourishing.  I do a really easy one - black beans and salsa heated together served with brown rice.  You can make a fast chili that way too - just add chopped onion and a fresh chopped bell pepper, some browned ground turkey or beef, and chili powder.

two books that i love to use for easy, simple cooking because i am also a college student are the hungry girl cookbook and the biggest loser cookbook. they are simple recipes, healthy, easy to find ingredients for, etc. check them out. also, the hungry girl website has a ton of great ideas if you cant currently afford the book.

I attached a really easy rosemary chicken recipe.  It literally has 4 ingredients, which you may already have in your kitchen.  I usually buy the bags of frozen, boneless, skinless chicken breasts.  The size of the chicken will effect your overall calories so you might want to measure it, or at least use the estimate on the bag.  Plus if you don't want to use the little bit of butter & oil in the recipe, use a spray oil (Pam) and instead of using the whole garlic sprinkle the breasts with a little granulated garlic at the same time you salt & pepper.

I've been making this for years.  I got the recipe from the cookbook, 365 Ways to Cook Chicken.  It's great, all the recipes are really simple and tasty and several are prepared in a low calorie way.
