LOCKED TOPIC

The Cool Club: Members Only

Mission:

To provide a forum of respectful honesty for male CCers and pro-male female CCers.

The Three Golden Rules:

1. Always follow the 10 rules of the site.  Sometimes we get excited and get heated, but the quickest way to hurt the club and it's mission is to lose our temper (even if he/she deserves it!) and call someone a "boo boo head."

2. Apparently, there is an 11th rule, that you may not specifically mention another CCer in the thread.  I don't see it followed very often, but it caused my previous thread to get closed down...so from here on out...any reference to non-member CCers or their threads/posts must not refer directly to a person, but instead to "a person of non-interest".  At the end of the day, it doesn't matter specifically who it is..."it's about the arguement not the person."

3. There is a group of persons of non-interest who collectively hate me and our committed to my demise.  They are the perfect example of "Trolls" but are shielded from action by the site due to their close relationship with the powers that be.  I cannot name them, for that violates Rule #2, but let it be known that they will be shunned and ignored when posting for they have nothing to offer but vile, mean, hurtful remarks that are aimed at instigating a response so they can turn around and report the thread to their moderator friends for prompt lockage.  We will not indulge them, stay strong.

Anyone that wants to apply for membership into the club is simply asked to make a case for their membership given the mission above.  I will serve as the gatekeeper, with the other members providing input.

The first post will be the members list which I will update regularly.

At the bottom of this initial post will be the "Topic of the Week" which I will choose and members can suggest.  It will be edited with a new topic every week.

I got an invite...

So I shouldn't have to apply for membership, right?

Actually I was going to call it "Cool Club: XXX pornography" because I thought that would attract more attention...but I'm sure our numbers will swell soon enough.  I could only send 2 e-mails per day so I got some more people to invite this weekend.

And to be truthful, they don't "hate" us so much as they are threatened by us.  Chat rooms and forums have a mini hierarchal structure that newcomers must follow to be accepted.  Agreement, conformance, and mindless chatter are all that is accepted.

I thought for awhile after yesterday's injustice how best to proceed...but I covered that in my journal.  Today, while running, it suddenly came to me.

Only those who are shunned are "blacklisted", you and all others make your own choices...but I doubt with that attitude that you would enjoy this type of thread.

As you were.

I'll go ahead and start off the discussion even though the membership is a bit light at this point.

I'm a bit torn on "best place" because I'm not sure if that means best place for a long term relationship or best place for a "hookup".  I'm going to say these 4 are the best in this order:

  1. Camp
  2. College
  3. Work or Bar (tie)
I picked "work or bar" at # 3 because it really depends on what you're looking for.  A bar is designed for hookups and thus is an ideal setting.  But work is a great place for longer relationships because it puts 2 people in an intimate setting for such a long period of time.  I put college at #2 because it is just like work except with the added advantage of the population being of the same relative age group and with similar interests, not to mention less inhibitions.  But I picked "camp" as #1 because if you envision a type of camp or summer work where that same college population is condensed, has even more similar interests, and is more intimate...I think that's the winner.
As for what I look for first...it's obviously physical since you can't guage a personality from the other side of the room.  I usually look at the hips and waist area first.  Then the face.

*gasp gasp gasping for air*

Bwahhhhahhahahahahahaha!

*can't breathe*

Bwahahahahahahahahaha!

Hmmm, best place to pick up guys...

Well definitely not a bar/club, but I'm not much of a one night stand type of gal. I've found that guys who flock to clubs are extremely predictable and boring. You know, the just looking to get laid, sh*znit for brains type.

I guess school...?

Usually it's through a friend of a friend, but again, I'm talking more along the lines of a potential relationship.

I don't really pick up guys though, it's usually the opposite way around.
So this is probably a better question for the guys out there.

It's actually a bit pathetic that you have nothing else to talk about. All of your threads are exactly the same. Why not keep the b.s. to one thread?

*reserved.

No one is harassing you. Maybe you should just make a group since you think you're so awesome.

Ali - Thank you for that wonderful suggestion.

Caloricat - In case you don't have the link, here it is.  Feel free to start a group of your very own.

Thank you.

But I'm not sure if wanting to have a thread that is free of Trolls means I should form a "group".

Hey jblar...what would our "group" be?  Most of the "groups" are people that all have one thing in common....would our one thing in common be the mission statement?

It's an interesting idea, I just don't know if it's necessary to go to that extreme.  Since our club is going to be a mixture of users with "different" backgrounds....I don't know how you would make that a "group".

And I do find it a little disappointing that when a CCer in the lounge doesn't conform to the majority of the lounge-goers opinions...the CCer should banish himself/herself to the "groups".  Seems like we can all be a bit more tolerant...I'm sorry, I hate that word..."accepting" of differences in opinion.

Maybe your group could be called "CCers only interested in appearances and dating"?

And I'd hardly call myself a troll.

jblar-

While we're waiting for our membership to grow, are you old enough that you voted in 2004?  Or will this be your first election?

Also...on a totally seperate note...when was the last time you took a test (school)?  I have to take a test next month for a certification and I'm actually pretty nervous about it...it's been a 1.5-2 years since I've taken a test...but it's been probably closer to 3 years since I took a "hard" test.
