Cool "Side Effects" of Weight Loss
I'll start:
I've noticed that as my fingers shrink the diamond in my engagement ring is getting larger! I like that! (Any other married or engaged ladies seeing the same results?)
Reason: 10/29/07: Stickied for a few days. 11/5/07 Unstickied
* I can now wear regular-width shoes.
* My cholesterol went down!
* My triglycerides went down!
* My blood sugar averages went down!
* My prescription medication dosage/usage has decreased!
* My skin and hair look great (eating healthier really works!)
=^..^= MOLLY
- I've noticed that regardless of the seat, the tray table on the airplane always fits me now.
- I'm much more comfortable on the plane, even if I get stuck in the "monkey in the middle" seat.
- I spill things down my front while eating very rarely (ha! I thought that was me being clumsy, but having less in front is really a big deal).
- My shoes don't wear out as fast (except my gym shoes!)
- A purse with a shoulder strap doesn't slip off my shoulder all the time
- Giving myself a pedicure is easy!
- Hopefully, soon I'll be able to wear knee-length boots in a regular shaft size again
- All my clothes and rings are too big
- My feet have gone down half a size
- I get cold a lot faster
- I get really hungry often (side effect of exercise and eating every 3-4 hours)
- I get sick to my stomach if I eat fast food or anything with a higher amount of fat that normal
- Sitting on hard benches/chairs is uncomfortable for long periods of time because I can feel my sit bones on them
Wow, mlbtracy and mollymouser, those are great side effects.
MLB thanks for sharing the hassle side effects as well. My fall clothes aren't fitting so I'm feeling like I look rather frumpy these days. Bad part of that is I really don't have the money to replace my wardrobe at the moment. And, I have even noticed the bench thing. Bones are hard to sit on.
I did think of another thing:
I can cross my legs now without the top leg feeling like it is going to slide off.
Time saved! I can get dressed a lot faster -- less time spent trying to pick out the outfit that looks the least frumpy and fat.
I can sit with my knees pulled up to my chest comfortably. And I'm definitely with you on the leg crossing thing!
And while I may get cold easier that also means I don't get so hot in the summer either.
mlbtracy, my feet have also gotten smaller which is something I found really weird but since I was wearing a size 15 it does make it easier to find shoes I like.
i can...
put my head between my knees
touch my ear with my foot
and put my chin on my chest without having a huge neck roll
oh yes >:D
My friend said my eyes look a lot bigger. Because my face is a lot smaller and less fleshy they stand out more I suppose.
It is so much easier to shave my legs
No more calluses on my feet/heels
~ Can't lean against a wall without it hurting the bones in my back.
~ Can't lay on the floor without it hurting ALL the bones touching the surface (hipbones, ribs, etc.).
~ Can't sleep on my side without a pillow between my legs to keep my knees from pressing against each other too hard.
~ Family and co-workers constantly trying to "feed" me. (But I've seen that this happens to a lot of people on the forums.)
Good things:
~ Finally feel comfortable getting a belly ring.
~ My husband can military press me over his head.
~ Can shop at stores for younger girls (like D.E.B., Rave, 5-7-9, etc.).
Yahvinah– of course, that counts!!!!
These are all great responses... keep 'em coming!
I get looked at a lot more!! Not that I'm interested, but it makes you feel good.
Shopping at the "smaller girl" stores
Although my fiancee "never" cared about my weight, I noticed he is a lot more intrigued by me.
Not having to hurry and put my clothes on before the fogged mirrors in the bathroom clear.

Hey, I don't know if you have a place like this where you are...but here in Indy there is a consignmant shop where you can take all your clothes and trade them in for new ones. I have a co-worker that keeps losing weight and instead of buying more clothes all the time - she takes her old ones in and exchanges them for smaller sizes. She does this everytime she loses enough weight where her clothes don't fit anymore. I know Platos closet does something similar to this. It's worth checking out.
crazygal1980– I'll have to look into that! Thanks for the tip.
