Cool "Side Effects" of Weight Loss
I'll start:
I've noticed that as my fingers shrink the diamond in my engagement ring is getting larger! I like that! (Any other married or engaged ladies seeing the same results?)
Reason: 10/29/07: Stickied for a few days. 11/5/07 Unstickied
Haha, be glad you've got those feet and calves or you probably would have been nearly crippled when you were bigger. I've got the same calves.
I can now wear most of my husband's clothes (he's weighed less than me our entire relationship, and still does, but I'll catch up eventually).
I can now wax my hoo hoo with ease and my belly isnt as much in the way=)
oops, double posted.
No more "hungry thighs" (ie my thighs don't eat my shorts, even with vigorous exercise).
My bangle bracelets fall off (guess I have smallish wrists)
My shoes are too big
I'm suddenly "visible" again (this is a mixed blessing. I sort of liked the invisibility of being a fat girl)
Any fast food more than a small side of fries makes me queasy, or worse
I can easily stand on one foot to shave, put on shoes & socks, etc. Without wobbling or falling down. Yay!
I think I've become more photogenic, or at least I don't mind getting my picture taken as much!
I got rid of the chub rub!
I had a ceremonial throwing away of all the clothes that were too big for me!
My lips look larger, I have no idea why that is, but I'm happy about it.
Increased confidence over all!
My dark circles around my eye are at least 2 shades lighter so far!
10% of my goal is met. I look forward to more side effects to come.
I haven't seen too many pounds go (I went from 148-124). But I went from couch potato/nerd to athlete. Here's the things that changed:
- Back dimples!
- No muffin top when I sit down.
- That space between my legs.
- Comfort in a swimsuit for the first time since I was twelve.
- I can stand naked in front of the mirror and not go "OH! That's grotesque."
- Social comfort.
- Jeans don't pinch my stomach when I sit anymore.
- Jogging. I can do it without feeling like a deisel locomotive.
- Flexibility. I can not only touch my toes, but put the heels of my palms on the floor.
- Yoga is fun, and I no longer look at it with disdain, thinking "I can't do that."
- When everyone else is dancing, I'm not sitting in the corner, nursing a can of pepsi.
- Shopping used to be depressing.
- When a guy flirts with me, I don't look at him, trying to make sure if he's joking or not.
- I can arm wrestle guys now, and kick their butts. That's always a conversation starter.
It's fun to read everyone else's changes. Very inspiring =)
Original Post by sjshalott:I did think of another thing:
I can cross my legs now without the top leg feeling like it is going to slide off.
i'm not there yet, but i CAN'T WAIT to be able to cross my legs. i haven't felt like a "proper lady" in eleven years!

This is going to be one of those 'TMI' but im going to share anyhow!
I can now wax my hoo hoo with ease and my belly isnt as much in the way=)
i just spit out my coffee!
This is really helping get my motivation back. :)
Side effects that I noticed:
- My eyes look much larger now (yay!)
- My dimples cam back! (yay!)
- I've discovered this extremely sensitive patch of skin on the inside of my thigh where everything used to . Rather, the Boy has discovered... ;)
- Count me among the people who get cold much more easily! (boo... though it is an excuse to get snuggles from the Boy... yay!)
- Postures in yoga are easier
- Clothing selection is much wider
- I feel 'lighter' and bouncier than I was before.
- I wear 2 piece swimsuits with confidence and fun. :)
I've taken to shopping clearance sales. I got a new suit and sweater for under $40 thanks to the clearance rack!
For those of you who are having trouble with clothes being too big, but your wallet not growing in size, my mom turned me on to a great idea. She, too, is losing wieght. Someone told her that as long as you don't mind pre-owned clothes, go to your local Goodwill store. They often have nice clothes, trendy too, that aren't expensive. At least that would hold you until you get to the weight you want to be. Then...treat yourself. That's what I plan to do.
As far as those funny things...increased sex drive. My husband is sooooo happy!

HAHA That's awesome! It may be TMI but it's the truth~
good points:
not feeling embarrassed about running into old friends, getting excited about having people see me!
being able to fit into the old clothes that I have kept for years knowing i would fit into them again one day.
Legs not rubbing together- this is huge for me.
Sweating less when working out- it seems to have gotten a lot easier, and i always loved to work out- i just didn't realise how much i was holding myself back.
No longer having that guilty feeling from overeating. That horrible low from knowing that you were doing something to sabotage yourself form your goals.
Excited by the idea and not dreading running into ex's.
being able to fit in when travelling abroad. You stick out in other countires if you are overweight, but it seems to be acceptable in the US.
