Did anyone realize that Cool Whip only has 25 calories per serving? Pretty nice right? I was happy when I heard that one.
Reason: Moved to more appropriate forum
Yes I did (of course after I scanned the label) and when you actually weigh it out, it doesn't seem like much. I get the Cool Whip free, it's 15 cals.
MMM, Cool Whip on angel food cake, on strawberries, blueberries, on frozen yogurt, eaten straight out of the tub...oh boy, I have to stop now.
Very good to know!
My whole issue with cool whip however is that it does absolutely nothing for me satisfaction wise (as in filling me up). But I guess it's a good way to make a bland, healthy snack taste totally non-diet. :-P
;) this is my sinful sexy dessert when I have a romatic night with da man.
Coolwhip and strawberries. Yum yum yum.
Not to put anyone off of it or anything but I try to avoid lots of that stuff!
Did anyone realize Cool Whip is nothing but High Fructose Corn Syrup and Partially Hydrogenated Oils?
But I just thought you might like to know, ReddiWip is only 15 cals and no hydrogenated oils =)
Hey, I read this post thinking it would be something pervy,,, LOL
Yeah, it's okay. I stick to Reddi Whip though because it's better. They did an experiment with Cool Whip and another whipped cream and left it out to sit. The other whipped cream melted very fast, but the Cool Whip never did and actually hardened.
Yes, I saw that but ended up eating the whole tub. So I can not buy that ever , ever again.
25 still seems like a lot.
reddi-whip tastes better and only has 5, i'd recommend that instead.
You Reddi-Whip fans out there...any Reddi Whip is 5 (or 15-varying info above) cals? I'm not so brand loyal that I won't give RW a try.
Original and Chocolate flavor - 15 cals
Extra Creamy - 20 cals
Fat Free - 5 cals
I'm a huge fan of Cool Whip too. Besides the 25 calories, it doesn't have any trans fat or cholesterol either. Has anyone see their website lately? Cool Whip.com
Cool-Whip probably DOES contain trans fat. It lists "hydrogenated veg. oil," (as the SECOND INGREDIENT behind water) and that it has "0 grams trans fat." Products labeled 0 grams trans fat mean it can contain 0.5 gram trans fat per serving and still be listed as zero. Products labeled "no trans fat" contain no trans fat. If it says "hydrogenated," even if it doesn't say "partially hydrogenated," it probably contains trans fat. It's just in an amount that is less than 0.5 grams per serving, so they can say "0 grams per serving." However, if it says fully hydrogenated, then this does not contain trans fat.
Sorry, don't mean to hijack, but it needs clarification, particularly since Cool-Whip is one of those things that is hard to limit to just one serving (which is very small) when you have a tub and a spoon. ![]()
I'm not sure it actually does contain trans fat. Besides, hydrogentated oils aren't all that bad. You'd be surprised how many foods use it. Peanut butter, cake mixes and frozen waffles all use hydrogenated oil.
Many people don't have a problem with it, but there are some people who choose to avoid it. I was simply posting about the other brand because, while it might be a small difference, it matters to some.
AND, if it contains HYDROGENATED oils, then yes it contains trans fat. You can read about that here.
