And we love the name Michel for a boy but worry he'd get made fun of as it sounds like the English "Michelle". And Michel would be the French for Miguel's name.
Michel is French for Michael, I guess Miguel the Spanish version?
I don't really have any names picked out yet...if my bf is my future 'baby daddy' then I'd maybe pick a Finnish name, but nothing too weird sounding lol, I like unique names but not gonng-get-teased-unique.
My cousin has Talia and Brielle for her daughters, never heard them before.
Yes -- Michel=Michael=Miguel=Michiel=Mikhail=Miko, etc. It's one of those names with a lot of variances for different languages/cultures.
As far as Finnish names, I've always loved Annika.
i worked at a restaurant with an adorable girl named june yasmine. her LAST name was Abcde, and she went by Yas. She was from the phillipines, gorgeous and so sweet!
another guy i worked with there, his name was Q... i swear! just Q. i saw it on his driver's license when he got hired.
a few girlfriends from a baby website i chat with named their kids 'abram', 'brody', 'theron'(pronounced TARIN), 'Thalia','kaden' 'marcus' & 'laish' (those 2 are twins) and my favorite 'kadison'.
Just because of his last name. Bwahaha.
Kira
Dawn
Naphtali
I should add my step-mom's name - Eija (A-ya). I think it's pretty cool!
I also like the name Tai for a guy (said like Ty)
A friend of mine from school was named Shamus. Kids teased him so bad, called him Anus, so he went by his middle name all through Junior High.
I've seen it spelled "Seamus" too. I think it is Irish?
Couple other unforgettable names. Knew a guy in college who's last name was "Spenis" -- Does it really matter what his first name is with a name like that? :)

LOL that kid would need therapy.
Someone once told me about someone who named their son Teid (pronounced Tayd) it doesn't sound so suspicious until you read it backwards...
when i told my mom, she said, "is her middle name 'lined'?"
There was a kid in my elementary school with the last name Boogener - not sure if I spelled it right, but sounded like booger to me :s.
Spenis is pretty bad...if I was his parents I'd kill the lineage of that name -_- take the wife's name!
I have a great neice named Zia (zlong I a) A great nephew named Noble and a great nephew named Corbin
I've always thought the French name Genevieve has a nice, soft sound to it. I used to think it was just *with accent*"jen-uh-veev" but then I heard it like "jen-uh-vee-ave".
Either way sounds soooo nice to me.
I went to high school with a girl named Shanda (kinda cute, right?) Well, her last name was Leer. Why do parents do such things?!
Shanda Leer ![]()
Taleah and Bryannon. My daughters.
That's pronounced Ta Leah and Bree Awe non
.....Spenis XD
