Correct BMI assessment

Someone know the actual correct BMI assesment?  On here it says 24.0 and up means you're overweight, but I've seen some sites that say 25 and up is overweight.  Just wondering what people know about this.

Yea on this site it says im underweight but on that site given above it says im a normal weight?
i don't think it really matters. Whether the "correct" BMI above which you are overweight is 24 or 25, if your own BMI is 24, you are still close to being overweight (even if 25 is the transition). It should just be taken as a warning that you should be more careful or you'll go in wrong direction.
Don't you think?

I read somewhere that some people have bones that have a higher density than other, so even if you BMI seems to say you are overweight, and you don't look like it, or you feel fine I wouldn't worry. Its just an estimate, and since body type, amount of muscle vs. fax, is all very hard to calculate, as long as you are close to the range, you'll probably fine.

If youare working out, eating healthly, and feel good- I say you are still fine :)

If you are very curious, ask your doctor the next time you are in! They have tests that are much more acurrate, until then I wouldn't worry.
Ok, I am going to give you an understand of what my friend told me. He works out with muscle and body building a lot. A man and a woman can tone up muscle mass with in 3 to 4 months losing a lot of fat and gainning muscle mass growth in that place.

Now when working the muscle-- that muscle can make you weight heavy until you burn a few pounds of fat-- your muscle weight is going to be high. Like for me. I was 184-185. Since i started doing this lady's toning workout at the gym i go to.. I have gain 2 to 3 pounds in muscle weight gain.

Muscle weigh heavy-- fat is just that fat. We don't really know how much all are body parts weigh. We don't know how much fat we have and we damn sure don't know how much-- our muscles weigh or bones hair, toe nails teeth.. so on and so on.

I am now going to worry about the weight training and the cardio for the heart and the sweat. He told me if i focus on those things i will lose the right amount of weight-- i want to lose and look good at any weight. He said BMI.. Has to be checked by a real storts doctor. SO you can get the right number. But i am sure my doctor know how to do it. But he also told me that S-O-Neil has a body fat mass of mirbid obesity40%. So that BMI really don't mean a lot of anything.
For more BMI information click the link I posted and then click "About BMI" It is very infomative explains BMI, what it is, what its used for and how acurate it is.
I supposedly have a BMI of 30[point]something... like 30.6... and it calls me obese. But what it doesn't account for are my muscles (which are BIG in my legs - always have been) and my large frame (never needed shoulderpads here!). So who knows what my true BMI is when you take all this into consideration... =\

I agree with you gemini1681.  These should be things that need to be taken into consideration as well...... BMI is just an indication but you should use your common sense as well.... Cheers!
