Cottage Cheese Fans :D

Alright:

I.

LOVE.

COTTAGE CHEESE!

Sweet, savory, plain...whatever!

I normally eat it with some crunchy cereal (like bran or cheerios) and yogurt and berries or with salt, pepper, scallions and tomatoes.  One time I added some guacamole and it was AWESOME.

So how about you guys?  What is your FAVORITE way to eat/use cottage cheese?

It doesn't matter if it's just with a little salt or in a souffle, we wanna hear.  :D

Plain. Straight from the container with a fork. Yum.

with mandarin orange slices

or black olives and tomatoes and a sprinkle of basil

or cucumber and pine nuts

lots of things are yummy with cottage cheese

1% cottage cheese with sunflower seeds and apple butter mixed in.

or with mangoes or grapes.
I like to mix in some Worchestershire sauce and crushed red pepper.  Sometimes I then use it as a dip for chips (when I'm being a not-so-good eater).  Or I mix in Dorothy Lynch dressing for a sweeter eat.

w/chopped tomatoes

Mmm...these all sound super good!

Here're some things I particularly like:

Sweet
1/2 c fat free cottage cheese
1/2 c fat free strawberry yogurt
1/2 c honey nut cheerios
cinnamon, sugar/splenda to taste

Mix it together and mmmm.  :D  It's about 180-200 calories total; good for breakfast or an afternoon snack.

Savory
1/2 fat free cottage cheese
1/4 c chopped tomatoes
1/4 c chopped bell pepper (I like red)
2-3 chopped olives, your preference
A few torn fresh basil leaves
A splash of balsamic vinegar/glaze
salt and pepper to taste

I'm not sure about the calorie count - but it's healthy so don't worry.  It's probably no more than 125/150.  You can also use a splash of italian dressing in palce of the balsamic vinegar.

I'm a total cottage cheese junky, which is good I guess since it's LOADED with protein and I'm a vegetarian.

Cottage cheese with cantaloupe

The strangest way I eat it is mixed with baked beans.

Oh, there is a cottage cheese web page. Just google and you will find it.

I don't like cottage cheese with sweet foods - but I REALLY love it with dill, either fresh if it has time to sit and get the full flavor, or lemon dill pepper if I'm ready to eat it now.  No one else in my household will eat cottage cheese, it's one of those foods that makes everyone give me "THAT" face  Yell  if I eat it around them.  So I have to eat a lot of it, since it doesn't keep very long.

It's my favorite salad topper. Since I started using cottage cheese, I don't even think I could stand a salad with a salad dressing (creamy, fatty, viniagrette, light- none of them would feel right).

With tomatoes

Mixed with a cut up sweet potato

With pepper and turkey

With Jalapeños and egg beaters

Almost anyway.

Yum cottage cheese!  I use it in my salad mix it right in and add a little lite cilantro dressing, I certainly could eat the sald with no dressing because of the cottage cheese, it makes it wet and rich.  I buy non fat and love it.

I like it with tomato cucumber slices and a bit of salt and pepper.  I don't like it sweet.  I tried it with pineapple and granola the other day and almost gagged.  Has anyone ever had a cottage cheesecake?  It's like cheesecake but with cottage cheese.  Someone made one once and it was really good.

Peanut butter and just a little splenda Smile!!

CELERY :D

and homemade salsa ^_^

Oh my goodness I am a cottage cheese FREAK!  I could go through a big tub of it in no time =P

My favorites:
PB
Cinnamon, vanilla, and stevia
Tomato
Salsa
Chopped apple
Mashed banana
Pumpkin
Puffed wheat cereal/Kashi cereal/Smart Bran

I also put cottage cheese on my toast or wrap it up in a tortilla

My FAVORITE snack for the longest time was a piece of toast with cottage cheese on top, and a spoonful of pumpkin and cinnamon on top of that.  YUM!

I love cottage cheese!!

It sucks because I live in France and it doesn't exist here!!! damn it!!!!

i've never tried cottage cheese, but i think it's about time i do. i can't wait to go grocery shopping and give it a shot!

Okay so this morning for breakfast I mixed:

3/4 c fat-free cottage cheese
1 c All Bran Extra Fiber
1 scallion
2 cherry tomatoes
Onion powder
Oregano
Salt
Pepper

And OH MY GOSH - amazing!  It was a little dry, so maybe 1 full cup of cottage cheese would've been better, but I try to not go over 300 calories for breakfast and it was either 1 cup of cottage cheese or the orange that I had along with my breakfast.  Lol; I chose the orange.

But this is fiber and protein packed and absolutely DELISH!  I think that some added pizza sauce would've been super good, too.

It looks a little freaky - but it was SUCH a big bowl (really filling) and took a long time to eat, which I liked because I like to slowly enjoy meals.

It's about 250 calories total, for the whole bowl.  Which is a lot, but given its size and purpose of an entree, 250 is a deal.  Serisously, though, this was like TWO CUPS of yummy goodness.

Anyway, anyone with a sense of adventure should try it.

The only flaw was that All Bran gets really soggy, really fast.  Maybe some cooked oatmeal would've been good, I dunno.  Or a crunchier cereal.

Be creative.  :D
