Cottage cheese ideas

Hi

I just bought cottage cheese, i know it's good for me :P but i haven't eat it since i was a little girl.

Any ideas? the only one i know is on toast!

My favorite way to eat cottage cheese is with red grapes, or green grapes. It is also good with sliced bananas. For a main dish, It can be used in Lasagna or stuffed shells instead of ricotta, but it is not as creamy. Hope you like these suggestions.

I eat 1% low fat cottage cheese with my blueberry light yogurt every morning.  I take a scoop of yogurt and then a scoop of cottage cheese.  It makes it taste better :)
w/ banana slices & cinnamon
I like it with sliced cucumbers and tomatoes - little salt and pepper.

Cut up strawberries into cottage cheese.  YUM! 

I have heard applesauce mixed in is good, but I haven't actually tried it yet.
I mix it with a bit of finely diced onion and paprika.....let the flavors meld for over an hour......serve it on bread, toast, or triscuits.  My mom made this......we kids used to call it orange cottage cheese!  Makes a great appetizer for a party!
I love to mix salsa in with my cottage cheese!  Yummy!
I like half a cantaloupe filled with cottage cheese. I just ate blackberries and cottage cheese. It's also good with spagetti sauce. Yum!
I make plain oatmeal, add 1/4 cup cottage cheese and dannon light and fit blueberry yogurt - very yummy!!

Also, can make the same but cook oatmeal with chopped green apple, and cinnammon and add vanilla yogurt instead, tastes like apple pie.

I have made homemade pizza with spinach and cottage cheese - yum!!

Add it to grond beef, squash and marinara.

Add to tuna instead of mayo, with ginger, garlic and chopped veggies

Mix with onion powder, garlic salt, pepper and fresh hebs to make a yummy dip for veggies or crackers 

And I think that's all I can remember :)
I just bought some apple butter to put on it.  I'll let you know how it is.
My sister uses it in Lasagna instead of Ricotta! Weird but very good!

I've been coming here for about 3 months now, but I just signed up. I'm one of those strange people that actually likes the taste of plain fat-free cottage cheese, but since I eat some almost everyday and I love heat, I add a healthy(?) dose of hot sauce to mine. BAM!

I mix it with my scrambled eggs. My mom used to do it for me when I was little, and I've been doing it ever since. I hardly like my eggs without cottage cheese. Also...I like it on crackers.
One of my favorite ways to eat cottage cheese (besides the already mentioned yogurt w/ cinnamon) is to put it on a slice of bread, put a couple slices of tomato on top, and broil it in the oven until the bread is toasted.  Great open faced sandwich.

I also like heating up shirataki noodles with 2 T. cottage cheese and2 T. of grilled vegetable tapenade (from trader joes) in the microwave... 50calorie spaghetti!  That's what I'm talking about!

I love how a whole package of shirataki noodles isonly 40 calories, and I get 4 servings out of it.
Wow, I just bought yogurt too, for the first time in years.  I like it with pineapple mixed in, with some of the fruit juice.  Nice and sweet.  I will try the above openface grilled sandwich style, that sounds yummy! Nancy
I dont eat dairy anymore, but I used to LOVE mandarin oranges with Knudson low fat small curd cottage cheese.  Oh and pinapple chunks packed in their own juice.  :)
I make "cheesecake" (its a bit goopy but I'm too lazy to cook)
Bit of CC, bit of yogurt, dash of vanilla, some sweetener and PLENTY of blueberries. Made in a little cup so around 80 cals for the whole thing. if I wasnt so lazy, I'd do it properly with gelatin and a crust.
I eat it with sliced strawberries, a little Splenda, and some cinnamon.
I tried it with the apple butter last night and it was very good.  1/2 cup cottage cheese & 1 tablespoon apple butter were about 125 calories.
