I have this friend who is over at least one a week, and then just bums around for the entire day, and often sleeps over. I don't mind her being there, but I am getting annoyed at her eating 3 whole meals out of my food without ever chipping in or offering to give us some money. Plus, she is a crazy milk junky, and always empties whatever we have which drives me crazy because then we have to go buy some in the middle of the week. I don't actually think I'm going to do anything about it, she is getting her own place soon and shouldn't be over as often, or at least not for entire days. This is more of a rant.

I was also wondering if anybody had funny stories about people like that . Cool

I feel for ya!!!!  I am married and live down the rd from my parents, my brother is 19 so his friends are always over. Well one of his buddys will stay for days to weeks and is up all night playing my brohters comptuer, lol well on top of all this my mom will cook and she is a good good but uses veggies, onions, peppers ect.... he would rather eat a hot pocket or hambuger helper so mom gets so mad because like with us kids, Eat what I cook ....

My thought would be mabye one day when u are out tell your friend to pick up some milk, and a couple other things u need. And if they ask for money be like ohhh just dont have any cash on me can u get this.  Then maybe they might leave for awhile. This happens when I make my brothers friends do all my running around or watching my daughter instead of my mom ect... its funny!!! But usually he just stick around still....

haha!!! This just happened to me last week too.

I was bombarded with a freind who would either sleep over, or come over EVERY DAY! It got realy annoying, b/c I work Full time and he's been unemployed for like...awhile. So sure enough he will come over, eat eat eat and never NEVER leave!

We finally decided to go on a grocery strike for a little while, so whenever he would come over, we would hide all the 'goodies' until he decided to find a better way to chip in.

Now whenever he wants to come over, I send him on 'errands' before he arrives (e.g. Grab some milk, bring over some snacks, did you have dinner? Can you bring something cause we didnt cook).

Now a days, he gets the msg, as a matter of fact we have had a peaceful week at home for the first time in months.

EXACTLY!  We have friends we invite over regularly for a meal.  It's standard in our group of friends to call and say, "can you bring dessert and some ice?" or whatever.  All of our friends are more than willing to bring what they are asked to and we are always willing to return the favor when we visit others.  Moochers become that way when you let them mooch.

My friends all have manners and wouldn't dare help themselves to somethings that isn't theirs with out asking first.... same as what i'd do if i went round someone's house

Well there's another thing in the plus column of not being really young anymore. At 39 this really never happens, but you have to watch out for your teenagers friends. If you're not careful they will clear out your kitchen like a swarm of locusts
