Couch to 5K
hey all, I know this is a broken record thread, however; I must have missed the forum that talked about the Couch to 5k program and would like to start doing it. Where can I find the thread that explains this or can anyone explain it to me in detail here?
Thanks so much!

I completed the program June 2, and it has changed my life! I never, ever thought I would like running, but now I am absolutely addicted! I am 49yo as well, so you don't have to be young or in shape to do the program. I'm now running 25-30 miles per week. It wasn't fun in the beginning. The first 5 weeks or so were grueling. My advice is to run as slowly as possible. I could walk faster than I ran. Go for distance, not speed in the beginning. It will keep you healthy and motivated. Good luck! BTW there are a lot of folks in the coolrunning Newbie Cafe who are at various points in the program. I highly recommend visiting that forum.

I just started that program on Friday!
I did it Friday & yesterday & my body both aches & feels fabulous! I just don't exactly know how people measure their distances or seconds. I kind of counted in my head, until I was able to figure out approximate "walk spots" & "run spots" on the track I'm using. And that will just work for this week since each week the time intervals change. It's kind of distracting & a bit tedious to count in my head the whole time! Any ideas?

I just started recently but I am having a hard time sticking to 3x/week since I do other forms of exercise on other days of the week. I don't want to move on to the next week's schedule until I've done the first week a whole 3 times in one week. But I am looking forward to moving on!
I use a watch that has a stopwatch (and a light since I run at night!). I do the 5-min walk and then start the stopwatch, and just keep track of each 60 or 90 second interval until I get to 20 mins.

I finally decided to start the program AGAIN - and get back on the site in general. Anyone want to check in on a regular basis to keep updated on progress wiht the couch to 5k? I have never been a runner, and got through 1/2 of the program last time, so I was running over a mile without stopping, which I've never been able to do. I'm determined to finish it this time so I can run for all my cardio.
As far as keeping time for when to run and walk, there is a free podcast on itunes by Robert Ullrey - the music isn't great, but it lets you know when to switch - there's one for each week in the program.
