You only need to account for the amount that you eat.

Think of it like this: you have 2 packages of soup. Each package makes one cup. Each cup has 100 cals.

You mix the  two packages together. You now have 2 cups of soup and 200 cals.

You eat one cup of soup. This is half of the soup, so half of the cals  (200), which equals 100 cals ingested.

Does that make sense?

Maybe i wasn't clear in my ??? i have 1 can of barley soup, and another can of something similar say slicy beans that has more calories, protein etc in it, now i add the 2 together, when it's time to log the ingredients, i'm confused....say can 1 has 80 cals, 3 fiber and 4 protein, and 0 cholesterol for 1 cup and can 2 has 120 cals, 5 fiber and 6 protein, one has 30 cholesterol, now by mixing them and taking one cup out i won't be sure how much of each i am getting..so how would i record this for 1 cup..???

You would have to add the numbers together and take half.  I would assume if you mix them well, you will get about half of each, so 80 cal + 120 cal = 200 cal, and half of that is 100 cal.  Likewise, 0 cholesterol + 30 cholesterol = 30, and half of that is 15 cholesterol.
