Count Your Calories via Text Messages!
There is no reason to leave your diet when you leave your computer! We're excited to announce the launch of our free SMS service, allowing you to check your calories with a Text Message.
Simply text message "food" and your search to 432584 ("HEALTH" on most phones), and we'll text message back the basic nutritional data. For example, try:
food caesar salad
food french fries
food asparagus
food anything!
If you've never used text messages before, just click here - we'll send one to your phone. If you do know how to text, then get started immediately by sending an SMS to 432584 ("HEALTH") with the following message:
Food [enter the name of the food here]
For complete information and additional directions, see our new CC Mobile page.
Please let us know how you like it and if there is anything we can improve!

I just tried it and it works great! Thanks CC+!
This won't add us to some crazy spam list, right? :)
this is awesome thanks so much this is super helpful!!
I just tried it and I love it. Does this cost anything from my phone? I wouldn't think so since I have unlimited text.

Slim - we don't charge for the service, so the only charge you might ever face is the one for sending the text itself (just like you would if you were to text a friend). Hence - the answer is no :)
Hi all, I think this is awesome, but does it also work in Canada? I've tried the go-mobile and it won't.
For now, we have only signed deals with US carriers and for service within US. If we can justify it, we will expand our agreements and Canada would be the next choice.
Thanks .. I'll look forward to using it. For now I'll just use my little calorie book.
I just used it and it didn't work for me. I typed in food beef soft taco and I got a text back that said 0 cals. What's up with that?
It worked for me! Thanks for sharing this sir Igor ![]()
Now I can control my calorie intake... lolz

Sorry for that. It wasn't necessarily a problem with the texts, but much more that we retrieved an item from our database that did not have any data in it - see for yourself here. No idea how this ended up there, but I already arranged for this to be researched and fixed. Please let me know if you spot any more items like this one (which would surprise me, tbh - but you never know..)
It would be totally amazing if this service could get expanded so we could add foods to our log this way... or find out what # our food meter is at...
*dreams on*
love this thang.

What septimusette said :) It's nice to be able to get it on the go, but better yet would be the ability to add it to our logs while we're away! A nice mobo app in flash or something would be a great thing, especially with all the new iPhone users... and finally it's coming to Canada..
If I use this service will I start getting spam messages to my phone?
Thanks
This is awesome!! thanks! ![]()
Wow, that's a really really good idea!
It's a pity that you can only use it in the US :(
Are you planning to make it available in Australia and Europe, too?
OHMYDOG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
love this!!!!
THANK YOU!!!!
i really like this service. i agree with a few people who posted before; it would be great if we could add foods to our log from our phones. maybe from the website if it's not possible via text. it would definitely make things easier.
this sounds great, but im not as interested in the calorie intake as much as im interested in the fat intake and carbs. its a great idea though, and i wouldn't mind using it!
I agree with those who are requesting a simplified version of CC for mobile web users :) Being able to log and see where my balances are at online (quickly & without the graphic bloat) would be awesome!
