are we going to keep each other updated regularly regarding our progress on the goals we set at the begining? the group started on a wednesday... that might be a good day to do a goal update... gives you the rest of the week to work on...just an idea :)
I think this is a great idea. It is certainly a great way to be held accountable for all of our goals.
Also, EXTRA exercise is impossible this week as I am putting in 13-16 hour days at work for 4 out of 5 days. It is hard enough finding time to do my regular exercising. However, I am taking a mini vacation this weekend and will try to find a way to fit a little something extra in.

I think reporting progress towards goals (or lack of progress) ... is a great way to stay accountable. I'll be posting my weight periodically ... and if the weather cools off, I'll post miles biked. (We're supposed to be 110 this weekend...yuck)

QUESTION OF THE DAY AUG. 24
- Peanut Butter: chunky
- Chocolate: dark - the darker the better I've found a wonderful 85%cocoa bar that I indulge in on occasion. With dark chocolate 1 small square will do with milk chocolate I tend to want 1-2 bars. I think it's because of the sugar!
- Sodas: Don't drink them often but when I do it's often Coke
QUESTION OF THE DAY: AUG 25
-
It's 4 months until Christmas. What's your favorite thing about Christmas? (Or, if you celebrate a different holiday, insert your favorite winter holiday!) Time off to spend with my family. I prefer Thanksgiving because that's when we visit my husband's family that lives out of state (I see most of my family at least 2-3 times a week).
QUESTION OF THE DAY: AUG 26
What's one bit of EXTRA exercise you did (will do) today? After I took a 55 min walk I decided to get on the exercise bike and did 10 minutes on there as well for a total of 65 minutes - I'm now at 899 minutes out of my 1085 min goal only 186 minutes left to meet my goal for the month!
Just an update on my progress so far.

Loss towoard goal: 2 lb
I'm doing pretty good meeting most of my goals although I'm still struggling with getting the fat % and sodium down. But I'm starting to have more good days than bad so that's promising.

QUESTION OF THE DAY AUG. 24
- Peanut Butter: chunky or creamy?
- Chocolate: milk or dark?
- Sodas: Coke, Pepsi or other? (Diet, of course)
MOLLY
Peanut butter - both! Depends on the usage.
Chocolate - both! Depends on the usage. Chocolate is my latest obsession! In a good way. I am learning how to make fine chocolates - truffles, dipped and molded, etc. Love playing with chocolate!
Sodas - RC is my usual go to, but Coke / Pepsi are interchangeable as well. NO DIET drinks for me, I think they're vile. I'd rather just have less of the real thing than try to choke down that poison they call diet soda.
Here's my goals i started with... haven't done as well as i would like toward them...
1. under 130 for the tournament in october ( don't have the exact date) that is loosing 7 from where i am...loosing 13 would be even better... i think...
SW:137 monday:136.75...will weigh again today. I woke up late, and anyway, i usually weigh in the evening at the gym...
2. 60 oz water a day.
um. haven't tracked adequetly. also pretty sure i haven't met it.
3. 40 g fiber per day
analysis says i averaged 17g of fiber per day this week... need to work on that!
4. at least 1 adult judo work out /week 4 total hrs of judo /week
went to kid's practice last night for 1 hour, 4 hours last thursday night skipped saturday... hubbie's schedual is off so i will have to make do with kid's practices for the next 2-3 weeks. :(
5. at least 1 trip to the gym / week
went monday... going tonight...thinking about adding sat and sunday mornings untill the tournament.
Hi! I was thinking about my weight loss while on the treadmill yesterday, and remembered that my New Year's resolution for 2008 was to lose 30 lbs. Well, I've done that =) So I thought I'll probably make another one to lose 30 more this New Year's. Then I thought, Wait!! I have time to lose 30 more before New Year's!! When I found this thread I thought it would be great to help me towards my goal (although I'm going to the end of December rather than Dec. 1st....) This way, I can achieve my goal weight loss before the New Year and free myself up to focus on bigger and better things =)
I've gone from 195 down to 163 so far this year (actually, I didn't get serious about it until May, so I've done most of it in the past 4 months) and I would like to get down to 135 or maybe even 130 by Dec 31st. I'm 5'5 and a mom of two, a 1 yr old and a 2 1/2 yr old. Having two pregnancies in a row really took a toll on my body, especially my stomach area, and I'm so eager to get rid of my "mommy body"!!!
Looking forward to a great fall and losing lots of weight with y'all!! -- Shaina

QUESTION OF THE DAY: AUG 26
What's one bit of EXTRA exercise you did (will do) today?
MOLLY
Oh, question of the day =) That's one of the main reasons I liked this forum so much. I'll just start with this one, since today is my first day.
One bit of extra exercise I will do today is take my kids outside to play. It has been so nasty and rainy here, we've been stuck inside for a week (I'm a sahm) and today is nice, so I'll be chasing them around the yard this afternoon =)
QUESTION OF THE DAY: AUG 27
What's the weather like where you live? (We're going to hit 110 by the weekend)

What's the weather like where you live? (We're going to hit 110 by the weekend)
MOLLY
We've dubbed this month "Augtober" where I live. It's 59 degrees right now and there's a 50% chance of rain today. It poured last night, so everything is really green and wet. It's supposed to go up to 65 this afternoon. (It's not usually like this in August. Usually it's pretty hot and sunny. This year, we had Juneuary, then a normal July, and now Augtober.)

MOLLY
The weather is so perfect here. Its been right in the upper 70's low 80's for weeks now.
Well Here goes.
My name is Shannon I am 42 Here are my goals
1. Walk 5 times a week
2. Track all my food daily
3. Stop eating in the middle of the night when I can't sleep
4. At least 3 bubble baths a weeks in the dark with candles to celebrate that i did my walking.
5. Pat myself on the back for doing something right each day and stop worrying about the little mistakes.
The Weather is amazing it is in the 80s. The sky is blue and the stars have been incredible. Yes I still wish on the falling ones. Just last week they cut the lavender Fields behind my house what an amazing smell that was as I walked in the morning. I will miss driving by and seeing the deep purple feilds. The grass hoppers have invaded so as I walked I could her the little tiny helicpter sounds they would make as they would fly by and the popping noise they would make when they landed.
Twenty-four days. In just 24 short days, my wonderful DH leaves again for his FIFTH tour of flying the not-so-friendly skies over Iraq with the USAF. For those of you keeping track, yes he did JUST get back in July ... and now he's heading over again for another three months. He called me from work just a few minutes ago -- to let me know that he'll be replacing another pilot who is unable to go for the Fall Deployment. I know I am being selfish -- but he just got home and I don't want him to leave again for month, ya know? I wanted to go biking with him this fall. I wanted to go to the County Fair with him this fall. I wanted to go to the coast with him this fall. We had plans. We had things on our calendar. We had hopes and dreams for enjoying cooler weather. Heck, I am STILL waiting for the military to pay us everything they owe us from his LAST deployment!!!
(sigh)
well, i am about 60 miles north of you molly, and it is hot here i guess, but i have been trapped inside this refrigerator they call an office building most of the day, so it might as well be january... although if it was january i wouldn't feel guilty turning on my space heater. i have gone on 3 walks today just attempting to normalize my body temp. i guess it is pretty warm out but it just feels good to my chilled skin. tomorow... bring a sweater.
QUESTION OF THE DAY: AUG 27
What's the weather like where you live? (We're going to hit 110 by the weekend)
Today was overcast and threatened rain (actually had a few drops but not much) which is desperately needed. It is currently about 77 degrees. Wonderful fall weather. It's hard to believe that just last Sunday it was over 100! This has been a very crazy month for weather. Normal temps range in the upper 80 - mid 90s for August but this year we've been all over from mid 70s to 100+. Forcast is for back in the mid to upper 90s by the weekend so I'll take the cool weather while I've got it.
QUESTION OF THE DAY: AUG 27
What's the weather like where you live?
The weather has been in the mid 80's here. Today was cooler but it rained off and on all day. It was still nice to walk outside (with my umbrella!) and not ocme home drenched in sweat! :)
MOLLY - That really sucks your DH is headed over there AGAIN!!! I would be beside myself......don't know how you do it girl! We're here for ya.
Oh, forgot....WELCOME to the new people! Nice to meet you! :)
