Reason: **EDIT: Updated members
I have no trouble controlling my eating during the day. However, once night comes, I want to eat everything in sight. My evening meal is always a lean protein, usually a baked potato or baked sweet potato, and a couple of green vegetables. A couple of hours after that I want to eat anything I can get my hands on.
Any suggestions on how to control my late-night cravings?

Set a budget for snacking, and stick with it. Lately, I've been eating a bowl of cereal or a nice pile of veggies (cucumbers, radishes, cherry tomatoes, a little lean protein) and that seems to do the trick.

Bethepoo, with your success this month Im more in a position to request your secret then give advice. Love Molly's ideas and perhaps alloting for additional calories for evening can help too.
With your "Operation Treadmill-Fiber", make sure your unplugging that treadmill before biting into it. Another two lbs? You are just getting down there and remembering when you broke into the 200s. Way to knock some more off before your departure. Yeah!
Way to go on dropping that fifteen pounds!!! I wish I had a secret and I wish I could continue such large drops. But I am sure March won't be so astonishing. Still, I will continue.
My biggest thing that helps is cutting out my massive consumption of "sweet tea." You know, us Southerners are consumed by it. I've switched to my Sweet 'n' Low in my iced tea which isn't quite the same but I can live with it.
Im always hearing such good things about fiber one, jen. I havent done cereal for sometime and thinking about these steel cut oats others also talk of.
They spell it sweet tea Beth but in TX call it sweet tay. I know you started out and made the most of your first month loss but glad you are prepared for your losses to become more normal and are ready to go on through them.
1/3 through the month and wishing best to everyone !!

I bought myself Fiber One today.... guess I will have a bowl tonight... Just wish it didn't look soooo bland.....
It does look a little bland, but I LOVE fiber one. Just sprinkle some cinnamon on it, and if its not sweet enough, sprinkle some splenda on top. mmm cereal.
Zen Bakery Blueberry Fiber Cakes (13g fiber) are pretty tasty, I must say. (We buy them at Trader Joes.)

I can relate.. I was also doing really well in January but February so far has been pretty bad. I am not totally off track, but definitely not on it. Maybe I am in the rutt that runs along the side of the track. It could be worse, it could definitely be better! I think the problem for me is that I am freaking out a bit about school and my research project and I am really an emotional eater. Still trying to get past that. I have always kept myself calm by telling myself that finishing my degree is optional but now I have a scholarship to do my research project which is great financially but adds to the pressure. And, my boss has now promised me a promotion that will be effective when I graduate - more good news, also more pressure! Now I feel like if I don't finish I would breach a contract and hit a ceiling in my career. Chocolate really helps calm my nerves!

Huge Fiber One fan here.. I eat it for breakfast and a late-night snack. I have a bag in my car for snacking during the commute. I probably eat a cup dry during the day. I am addicted to it!

Wow, denise! Sounds like you have a lot on your plate (literally and figuratively)! I know what you're going through, having been there myself, but try to take it one day at time (I know, easier said than done). You know, you have your CC buddies to support you. Take control of your emotions because YOU are the BOSS. You just tell your nerves to C-A-A-A-L-M the hell down; everything will be fine! You've worked hard, and you deserve to earn your degree and that nice promotion! Take care.
Denise, I imagine the pressure there. With having to continue throught it, some relaxing techniques couldnt hurt and perhaps find non food indulgences to help out. Maybe even bigger with all you have is to remember you just have to make it through each day and let them add up to weight loss. Sometimes getting control over eating can help us feel more empowered to deal with other things so another plus.
To all team members - the holiday guilt is further behind and the NY resolutions are back there to but we've got warm whether ahead and clothes layers to be shed. Dropping some weight will make it that much better so make good choices and lets work our way down towards March 1st!
Said I'd lost a few since Thursday but since it wasnt the scale the weighed me last time, holding out til this Thursday. Ive found the one carb thats working best for me so far is triscuits. Theyre whole wheat and they just really hold me over without any carb reaction (and Im pretty sensitive to them with insulin resistance).
Funny how after making it thru the weekend, cant wait til weigh in day :P
How can I make walking fun?
You have to find a way to make exercise fun or else you won't do it. If you walk indoors on a treadmill, I recommend moving outdoors into the fresh air... Read more
