Aovermy and Jack have been updated with nice losses and May which was looking half done is filling out nicely.  Since I May 1st I had a 1 lb gain which I didnt earn, putting the expectations up for Thursday.

I will be planning a trip to Vegas to see Elton's show.  Ive not gone on a vacation since 2002 and prior 2000, both staying with family because I couldnt get around anyway so what was the point.  Im not a walking machine but I can get around.  Worse, I passed on Elton's last Dallas concert - unbelievable for a fan like me and upsetting as well, because at 400+ lbs I couldnt do stadium seating and I sure couldnt stand through it.

I would always say "Im a homebody" which really meant it was just too hard to do much more than sit but a ridiculously long overdue vacation is going to happen.  Not sure when - looking for best seat ticket date availablity but its happening.

Hoping May is off to a good start everybody!

I know it isn't the 1st anymore, but I'd like to update my weight.  I have gained weight, again.  544 was last time I was on the scale. :(  I have decided to start the process to be approved for WLS.  With the NHS it can be a long process.  Heck my initial appointment with my GP isn't til June 3rd.  Just thought I would admit that I hadn't lost weight, but I am in fact doing something about it.  I am counting calories and seeking the best possible outcome for myself.

Thanks for the update Dondra and good luck to you!

Having good about the weigh in tomorrow - never know til I get to the clinic but with a gain last week, if I dont lose Im starting an investigation :/.
The scale is now forgiven after bumping me from 326.8 to 327.7 last week with no reason (grrr) because todays weigh in Im at 322.1.  Now doing the 7 lb countdown to my halfway point of 315, a 150 lb loss.  Bring it on!

Good eating everybody - lots of time for May to drop some weight for next month update so take advantage :D!

My scale is forgiven too this week after last weeks disappointing loss =(

Today im down to 303.5 ... SO happy !!

K

I hopped on the scale a day early and was happy to see 246! That's an even 160 lb loss! I also got on my fat loss monitoring scale the other evening and was happy to see I was below 40% fat! It had me at 39.5% and the other test (Futurex) I took a couple weeks ago had me at 30.9% fat. The fat loss scale uses electrical conductivity to measure and the Futurex uses bioimpedance of light so that's the diff in the measuring devices. The Futurex is known to judge low on obese people, so I would guess the number falls nearer to the fat loss scale. My calculated BMI puts me at 37.4.

At any rate, that means I am not morbidly obese by any measure anymore!!! Yeah! Put on the happy music, let's dance the horah!

Dondra, good luck to you regardless of what you decide. It's a tough choice and kudos to you for doing something for yourself and your health.
Yea!!!! My weight is finally coming down again. I lost 6 pounds this week. I am so pleased. My husband and I are both eating healthy together. He is able to exercise though, which is really helping him. He lost 18 pounds last month. But I am pleased with my 6 pounds lost this week. Very pleased. I pray that it continues to go down.
Nice losses guys!  I ended up in ER Thursday night - fine now but weird attacks I get every few years.  Thought they were over with my gall bladder out and now had hoped the weight loss would help because its not heart, they think its gastric related.  Just glad its behind me.  Still pursuing those Elton Vegas tickets and while Im strict, will be seriously taken down this weight to make the show.
I'm glad you're feeling better now Jayne. I'm sorry you were going through that rough time.

I know this has nothing to do with the post but forgive me.  All of you are so supportive.  I have to put our 4 1/2 year old German Shepherd down today.  He is a danger to the neighbors and never had been this aggressive until recently.  He has never been aggressive with my husband, daughter or I but anyone else he snaps at and 10 days ago he bit a woman.  She wasn't badly hurt but we know that if it would have been a child it could have been a lot worse.  We have been to behaviorists and they said the type of aggression this dog has is fear aggression which is very hard to rehabilitate.  Please think of me today.  I also have been a wreck the last 10 days eating a lot more than I should too.  So hopefully, I can get back on it and just keep the good memories we have with our "Charlie".  Thanks for listening!

{{{Michelle}}} What a horrible situation to face.  It is certainly the responsible thing to do and I know that doesnt make it hurt less.  Im totally supportive of coping however is needed to get through such a emotionally wrenching situation.  Thinking of you and Charlie.  So sorry youre having to go through this.  I spent last night and this morn cleaning up my daughters upstairs since she's moved in with her dad and it included putting together all the things she'd saved for her cat we had to put to sleep.  Physical things can be very helpful to keep memories close.

Im actually off to clinic to weigh in and compare it to a scale I just bought.  Mine is old and said it goes up to 350 but is way off on my weight so I bought one that says up to 400.  It came in a bit lower than my Thursday weigh-in, more than I'd think I'd have lost since than so trying to do a same time weigh in to confirm how close they are.
mwiowa,

I'm certainly thinking of you. I had to put my Sammy down last year (she went into a full epileptic state which she never came out of), and I remember losing my other two old ladies some time back. It's certainly not easy under any circumstances and I hope you see happier days ahead.

I went clothes shopping over the weekend and got my first swimsuit in more than a decade!!! It's a size 20, which size I haven't worn since freshman year in high school!!!

Also got myself some jeans, capris etc The 100% cotton size 20 capris, are on the tight side, but give me time, they'll fit perfectly! I can also wear a 18/20 blouse now. Unbelievable!

And it's so nice not to have to shop only at specialty stores!

Hi all,

As of May 10th I'm down to 224.6 lbs Laughing 74 more lbs to go to goal; 5 lbs to go to my 100 lb loss mark and 25 lbs to go before I'm in the 100's WOO HOO!

Aovermy, Id be living in that swimsuit :D!  Gotta love capri pants - so flattering and cute but how great to be wearing high school size clothes!  J3nn, dropped you a PM about whether to put this for May 1 or if theres anther amount.  How cool to be on the verge of 2 major landmarks!

The scale matched the clinic and I was mighty surprised - I dont expect any to scales to match honestly so I am now amoung the home weighers (told the clinic staff me not showing up anymore doesnt mean off the wagon).  Also came in at 317.9 which almost knocked me over.  Had a really good weigh in last Thursday after the bad prev from 327 to 322 so I did not see that one coming.  If Im still 317.9 Thursday will be happy.

Worked thru yesterday into late morning cleaning upstairs and still not finished, lots of reorganizing.  Discovered a set of clothes that I'd banished from downstairs years ago and so exciting!  Since I'd forgotten them, feels like free clothes.
Someone get me away from that scale :P.

For 11 months just one weekly weigh at the clinic and now I cant keep off it my new home scale.  Ive heard that weighing yourself repeatedly can be bad or discouraging but years back when I was light enough to do so, I always found it a confirmation - "The weight is still gone",  "See - you still weigh just xxx lbs", etc.  Wondering if this is just a novelty attraction that will wear off.

Funny thing is, I still am considering going to clinic tomorrow to weigh in - I still feel drawn to it, as if it will be my 'real' weight or maybe its just the developed habit of it.  Not really a problem, just a weird thing.  Tomorrow is still official weigh in and none of the 7 day suspense of "What will it be?" - have a pretty good idea LOL.
315.9 weighin today, two really good weeks and May is off to a great start - probably my best for the year.  Granted following weeks might be tougher with these better weeks but will keep that in mind not to be disappointed if it slows down at all.  Still, wont quit the good fight.

Hoping your seeing progress this month !

Ahem. I have an announcement. *drum roll*

I AM OFFICIALLY OUT OF THE 300'S!

My official weigh-in today: 299 *tee hee*

Yay! It's working!

*shakes pompoms and does snoopy happy dance*

It's not much, but I lost a pound this week. That is better than going up, so I will take it.

*shakes pompoms for Pam*

That's how I'm doing it Pam; one pound at a time! Smile
