Sun,
Yes I know it's a little more than I originally thought I would do. I kinda want to keep myself motivated, moving and on track. So setting a bit of a high goal will help me stay focused, and give me a healthier happier life:)
Ang
Hi all. Well, if I can get my June 1st weight posted still, it is the same as May 1st. - 380. I just got back from Florida and would have had a loss but the last 3 days of Disney World my dad and brother pitched in and rented me an ESV cause they were getting frustrated waiting for me and my mom to catch up. So, not walking, I tried to only eat enough to not gain which I did but dissapointed with no loss for May. I plan on having a little bit of a loss for the last part of June. Still hangin in there. Congrats to everyone else on their progress!!!
It sounds like everyone is doing a great job in keeping moving forward with their goals. I think I need to set some mini goals like ya'll to keep me motivated. I have a goal of 30lbs by October 1 but maybe I'll add a goal in there for the 15lb mark to give myself something to cheer about between now and then. I have so much weight to lose it really seems a bit overwhelming when I start thinking too far in advance you know!
Thanks to all for posting it is encouraging to hear about how everyone else is doing!
Here here
Mini goals are so important, mine is to reach the 100 pound loss mark by my birthday (in october). So thats 27 pounds til' then... But the in-between goal is 241 pounds, as that is the weight I was when I moved here and went to uni in 2002.
Baby steps :)
mwiowa- sounds like you did great! Stepping foot into Disney World probably would of made me gain 5lbs. so for you to maintain that's awesome! Maintaining is better than a gain, and a loss of 62lbs. so far is awesome. Stay positive, and good luck.
sun- have fun on your trip! I'm so jealous. Dining options may be limited, but exercise options will be available every day all day, especially in Vegas. I've heard you do allot of walking in Vegas.
sunny- I am so anxious to get to my first big goal, also set for Oct., I find I get a reward every time I step on the scale and its lower than I had anticipated, but I am thinking about adding an additional incentive in there to keep me going to. Maybe a mani and pedi half way to my goal. Defiantly not going for the clothes incentive yet:). Good luck you can do it!
So, great surprise this morning I weighed myself and was shocked 257lbs. I couldn't believe it, lets hear it for a program that really works! I think I have officially and finally left the 260's behind. I was so surprised because last night I didn't do my usual walk, but did deep clean the house, I'm like days before my TOTM, and (shame on me) I actually went to McDonald's and got a hot fudge sundae, but I counted in the calories for it and was still about 200 short. How nice is it to eat normal and still lose weight. I love that I feel like I can have a sweet treat ounce in awhile and not blow all my hard work. So, now only 1 pound to go to reach my goal for this week how exciting is that, I am so thrilled. As always you guys have been a great support! & nbsp;
laurabow- YAH! That's awesome only 27 pounds to go! We're on the same track Oct. is my 100 pound mark to, which will put me at 214. I couldn't even tell you when I was last that low. All I remember throughout my entire childhood and teens was 220lbs. I honestly don't remember anything lower than that. Good luck, and you've done awesome.

Great weighin Renear - your weekend weigh in is looking optimistic. Great to have your treat and stay the course too. People have said dont keep weighing yourself often - it can be discouraging. To someone like me, its a reminder "That weight is still off" plus I dont get thrown by flucuations, been dieting too long. Sure maybe a bit of a downer but in perspective, since Im behaving I know it will straighten itself out.
My pending goal is late this month for my 1yr diet anniversary, pressing for 300 and pretty close now. Hoping Vegas doesnt throw it off but Im so close know, cant be disappointed either way.
Sunnyone, I think we can all relate to 'so much weight to lose' feeling sometime but the upper is knowing taking advantage of these months, you'll hit that 15 and 30 lbs loss, plus continue forward to feel even better!
There was never pain but a pressure that built up to where I couldnt bear it without getting weight off it. I was walking today. It was the hopes of getting on the concert stage, since I paid for tickets allowing me to, with less of a limp or better and know I will walk, maybe jog somewhat (with some adreneline help).
Im basically in shock - cortisone shots, wow!
Sun- ouch that just sounds painful, but glad it's working for you. Yeah I've heard you shouldn't weigh yourself everyday and I probably won't eventually, but right now it helps me stay on track sometimes its a good motivator, showing low weights, and sometimes it's a remind I need to work a little harder, showing high weights.
Little discouraged right now, had my free day Wednesday, and as usual I'm a little up I'm worried though I'm actually a little further behind than I thought for this week and this month. Stepped on the scale this morning and weighed in at 259lbs., still below 260 so I'm praising that, but I need to be at 254 by tomorrow morning and with my goal of 12lbs. lost in a mo. I'm supposed to be at 251 by July 1st. Don't really want to do anything drastic, but am wondering about over loading myself with water to kind of detox to help me get back on track or at least closer than I am now. I haven't been drinking as much water as usual so wonder if that's what's doing it to me. Don't know why, but water seems to balance me out sometimes. I felt like an eating machine the other night without really being hungry and it was all pretty healthy stuff and in my calorie range for the day, but this is a sign of TOTM so maybe get that over with and be back on track. Who knows those are my thoughts I do tend to analyze things to much so I'm probably worrying for nothing.
:( bad weigh in for the week 259 this morning. I'm behind by 5lbs. which isn't horrible, but I'm afraid of falling behind to far I have 8lbs. to lose by nextSat. which I can if I kick myself into high gear and especially if I can get my TOTM kicked off this century I kinda feel like it's just been hanging over my head. Crossing fingers.

Ang, I imagine it must be hard seeing the scale every morning. Wouldn't it be easier to do it once a week? I think the daily fluctuations mess us up a lot and mess with our heads, even when we haven't done anything wrong or different than the week prior. I also thinks it gives you more to work for. I weigh in on Saturdays and then normally sat/sun is my cheat day. So if I have a horrible cheat day, I can make it up over the course of the week, especially if it's salt intake. Besides, you can step on a scale a lot of times within 2 minutes and weight different amounts, depending on the scale especially. I just imagine it makes it more of a torture for you. I know that if I'm exactly the same from the week before, while I'm not happy, it only lasts a day. I see the next week as a challenge, but it takes a few hours until I can get to that point. I'd hate my scale if I saw the changes day to day. Actually, one of my forums does it on mondays, and I find doing it sat and mon is frustrating from last week cause it was the same exact weight. Just a suggestion.
Hi,
I have just started with 350 lbs and would like to join the 300 Club.
Thank
Hi Buffulomatt - check your inbox!
liza- the every morning weigh in is a "must see" thing for me. I don't know why, but I need to see the numbers change. Even if they go up I want to know that they are going up. It helps keep me motivated. I can't believe you have two free days. I freak out over one I am just so afraid to mess up my good progress so far. I do need to focus my free day for Sat. though. I think having it in the middle of the week just messes me up to bad. I'm defiantly saving my free day for this Sat. me and mom are going to chinese I can't wait. Thank you for your thoughts. I am just a little anal about my scale.
buffalomatt-Welcome Welcome, looked at your journals sounds like things are going good. Am excited to hear all about your journey. I have found CC to be a great support in information and in motivation. Especially in this forum these guys are great! Good luck!
sun-Yah, you're back! Missed you bunches. Sounds like you had a great time, and congrats on the loss that's awesome gotta love it when you can have success even on vacation. I am all about Italian food, and am glad you let yourself indulge. Good luck at the clinic.
So PMS is a beautiful thing I was freaking out about my weigh in on Sat. (259lbs.) I was up 5lbs. from where I should of been for starting this week. That evening I realized I started. I have never been so happy. LOL. This morning I was pretty much done and weighed myself again. The scale said 255! I am so happy just 1lb. off track, but I can handle that much better than 5lbs. So I still have 4lbs. to lose by Sat., but I can do it. I am so excited to see the 240's next week. I am just thrilled with my success so far it just doesn't seem real. For the first time since I was probably 8 being under 200lbs. actually seems feasible. I put on a pair of dress pants for work today, the only thing clean I had in my closet, and they were a size 20 and they fit I was in shock and my mom kept saying all day they actually looked baggy on me. I just tried on another pair of dress pants, size 20, that I have kinda filed away in my I'm to fat to wear section of my closet and they fit to. How about that two new pairs of pants I can bring back into my daily wardrobe how sweet is that. Ok done tootin my own horn. Thank you guys as always for the great support. You guys really do keep me motivated.
I have a kinda stupid, on my part, question. I think I have been converting things wrong or just following my stomach in the wrong direction. I use a food scale for my food at home and I have a big glass measuring cup my measuring cup says 8 oz. for a cup so does that mean I can weigh out 8 oz. of whatever on my food scale and have a cup. My question is because I had some popcorn at work for a snack today and like the whole bag only weighed 4 oz. and on the box is says a serving is 1 cup popped. A whole bag obviously is not 1 cup if you use a measuring cup. So, how do you guys measure/weigh out big food? I mostly use my scale for like chicken and fruit and veggies. Stuff I can't pour into a measuring cup and wouldn't want to smash down into a measuring cup. Any advise would be great.
Ang
welcome matt, although I've seen ya around already!
sun, welcome back. Glad you joined Vegas...I've never been and always wondered. Well, never been to that side of the country either, lol. S. Dakota is the most west I've been. Sounds like you have a blast!
Ang - omg no, i don't do sat and sun as a cheat day. It depends what's going on which day it is, but I choose whichever one suits what I'm doing. So, one time we had a family dinner at my in-laws' house, so that was my cheat since I had no idea what we were doing until that morning. It was Sunday, so I had to save my saturday food. Unfortunately, it was a very unexciting meal. I realize that it's a lot less what is eaten for dinner compared to what snacks and desserts I allow myself to have. And I save it for the weekend too, especially because I'm home and have more a tendency to just pick food up. I check the fridge more often then I should. I have no idea about the popcorn. I use the microwave ones that are 100 cal. I love the kettle corn ones. Yum
I dont do cheat days but thats because I dont trust myself :P. Too risky, keep it straight and narrow but think its cool for those who can and still continue to lose weight - its deserved if you can balance. Your plan Liza sounds like a great way to work with a schedule you cant always predict.
I dont remember the ounces but I came home Monday at 299 and that night 297, but yesterday morn was 300 and last night 301. Behaving the whole time so curious if my Thursday weighin will or wont break 300.

Hi Ang --
The deal with the ounces vs. cups thing is that 8 FLUID ounces = 1 cup. That means that 1 cup of water should weigh 8 oz., but other stuff won't work that way. Popcorn, for example, is mostly air, and the space between the kernals in the cup is air, so no way will 1 cup = 8 oz. Usually packages will show a serving size as volume (e.g., 1 cup) and also as weight (usually in grams). If you weigh, go by the weight shown on the package. Do not assume that a cup is 8 oz. unless you are measuring a liquid.
Happy day - weigh in at 299.0 and breaking 300 was my goal for my 1yr anniversary Saturday. Cant believe I called it so close. So easily couldve come short (or better) but just slid into base with about a lb to spare. So so cool to be in the 200s even it if it just barely because its going to better. I can still remember crossing into the 300s.
A week from our new July weigh in already! Lets make this week count and good wishes to all as we land our halfway mark (6 months - big congrats to all whove stuck with it since starting the thread).
I have a feeling my monthly weigh in wont be so good this time. I think I have lost about 5 pounds, which is a little dissapointing. Maybe if I up the exercise this weekend I can shift an extra couple in time :)
