Haha, bread and cheese.  Korali, I'd be right there with you on the gain from France.  I love France!  One of my favorite places to go.  Have fun!

Molly, you'll be alright.  And think about this time next year!  How much lower you'll be!

I'd been sick for a bit and finally took myself to the dr. Mainly cause it was starting to hurt when I swallowed.  Anyway, last time I went which was pre weight change, they had to get a little weight thing to add to the scale since I was over the max.  Hated that.  Well, this time, I thought I'd need it again.  But I didn't!!  Was very excited about that.  It's kind of sad, but was very happy.  Unfortunately, I'm still slacking on the working out.  I'm more tired in general and getting home later due to this stupid thing with the schools.  So last week, I did lose a little bit, but not my normal amount which was fine.  And this week, I put it back in gear.  Funny how when I do I'm all interested about different fruits or veggies to try.  I got spaghetti squash, which is so incredibly funky!  It really comes out kinda like spaghetti!  And I stopped at Sam's to get all my little cheeses.  Pre sized cheese works for me.  Cutting it myself is a wash (ok, a little more, a little more...that's an ounce right? while holding up waaaay more than that!)

SCALE REPORT -- YAY!

Well, I must admit that the scale is cooperating nicely, and my initial "sticker shock" scale report on the EVENING of Aug 19 (291.2) seems to have been short-lived (thank goodness!) Yesterday the scale was down to 283, and today (Aug 21)  it whooshed down even further to 279.4 ... bringing me to a loss of 95.6 pounds. THAT seems more like it! Tomorrow (Aug 22) is my one-year anniversary of dieting, and I really did want to be "near" the 100 pounds lost mark ... and this morning my wonderful DH smiled and said that 95.6 pounds was "definitely close enough to count, dear!" Isn't he a sweetheart? I am so thankful that he is so very encouraging and supportive through all of this.

Sun??? On the first post, you listed my start weight as 372 ... and it was actually 375 (I double checked with my doctor's office) ... so that probably needs to be upper-dated. THANKS!

MOLLY

Molly, 375 is news to me!  You didnt have your SW listed 8/1 but you list it as 272 lbs  7/2 ("271.00 ... exactly 101 pounds lost"), 6/14 and  far back to your 2nd post on this thread so I've changed it under protest Tongue out cuz I wonder if you DID lose those 3 lbs prior to the doctor plus for once, not another "Sun's Typo" LOL.  Your hubbys right to - think how far in advance you (many of us) set goals so to come THAT close - pick anything off the top row (carny talk).

My scale is being kinder too these days. I'm at 221, which is almost back to my pre-vacation best weight (219), and is at least back to end of July, so not too bad.

Molly, congrats!  That's a great number to have lost.  Almost right at the recommended 2 lbs a week!  I hope my year will be just as good as that.  While I see myself losing and know it took a *long time* to put it all on, it's frustrating that it takes so long to get back down.  Oh, and I am finally seeing results!  I take pics once a month and can actually see a difference in my face and parts of my body.  Apparently my thighs are the last to go.  But it's still very motivating.  Helped to get me back to working out again last night, despite still being super congested.

molly, that's wonderful; congratulations!!

Happy Anniversary Molly and knowing you'll do as well going forward as you have so far!  Liza, heres to that congestion clearing up.  Im the same with the loss - it drains off plenty from my entire body while my thighs hold onto it for dear life but even with faster progress elsewhere, it is going from my legs (.. slowly ..).

Could it be - YES, a week from weigh in Sept 1st.  Boy have I slowed down from my intial month drop - usually do but bigger drop than and bigger slow down now.  Looks like it will average out.

Just checking in, I have been house sitting all week so my food has not been as good and I am still retaining water, but I hope by the monthly weigh in I will be back to normal, I plan to eat blandly to get the water to finish coming off.

HEY EVERYONE!!!

I missed you guys soooo much, as always.

Molly- I am so proud of you that is just so incredible! You are an awesome inspiration. I hope to hit that close to 100lbs. on my CC anniversary. Good luck with your new goal you can definatly do it.

korali-mmmm bread and cheese that sounds so good that is definatly a weakness for me. Have fun in Paris I am so jealous I want to go to Europe so bad.

Liza-I love your update on the doctors I hate going to the doctors just because of the whole weighing issue, but what great motivation. I love seeing like extreme life changes like that. Something that may seem minor like that to other people is such an extraordinary thing to someone that has been as big as all of us have been. Keep it up your doing so good.

aovermy-omg I really found out the affects of alcohol after losing so much weight. I hadn't had anything to drink since I have lost my rescent weight and it was not pretty. I'm a hard liquor shot kind of girl and wow did it knock me on my ass. Thanks to your post I realized why it happened though. By the way, great job on your trip to San Diego sounds like you had fun and stuck to the diet pretty well. I need advice from you that's for sure.

Wow, this month has flown by. I can't believe it has already come and gone. This has been an incredibly hectic month with work and school, so I fell off the wagon for an entire 2 weeks. This monthly weigh in is going to be bad, but I have a strong feeling I can get it back next month. I felt bad only having a 4lb. loss this month, but I have noticed I have really jump started my weight loss again. I got back up to 244 and am now down to 236 one more pound and I will be at an 80lb. loss how awesome is that I just can't even believe it. So in the inter um of all this I have actually been able to get off 8lbs. this week. I am def getting there again I am beyond excited to see the 220's. I have hit the lowest point while doing CC and in the last 5 yrs. Can't complain about that. So I have met someone incredible. Unfortunately she lives in PA it kind of helps with my motivation and goals though. I have always wanted to travel all over, but have been way to self conscious, so I am now doing it. I love that she's so close to NY and Phili so there are two opportunities for some big city traveling. So here is my weight loss dilemma, I am going to be driving from 10-12 hrs with lots of fast food on the way. What do you guys suggest for trip food I'm thinking like little boxes of raisins and 100 calorie pack chips of sorts I'd like grapes and fresh green beans, but am worried about the efffect the heat may have on it in a car for so long, but it's not like I won't have air so besides that I'm clueless any ideas?

Ang

Hmm, some ideas off the top of my head are:

apples, oranges and bananas. Moderate car heat won't kill any of these diet friends.

recloseable baggies of dried fruit & nut mix. I mix my own out of 1 fig torn up into 5 or 6 pieces, 1/8 c raisins, and 6 nuts; but obviously tastes differ so whatever you come up with.

jerkey --high in protein to keep you full and just about indestructible for that length of time.

puffed wheat cereal with splenda & cinnamon thrown over the top (if you like cinnamon that is) You can have a pretty hefty 2 cups of the stuff for 60-70 cals most of the time.

kashi granola bars--the chewy ones have 140 cals per bar and decent fiber & protein stats.

carrots, celery, grape tomatoes all of these should be able to withstand some car heat, especially the tomatoes.

Have fun!
Ang, a loss is a loss is a loss!

I took off this month like a rocket but then have plateau'd the last two weeks.  Now looking like a slow month.  I did it myself, going to low on calories and now at the calories Ive always been on prior my body is maintaining although month end is also TOM so its also the weakest but I havent not lost for two weeks - if I do barely lose one, I usually do great the 2nd.

ARGH!!!

I have stayed at 240 for the whole month, no budging! I havent changed my eating habits, and i am exercising loads more at the gym- doing CV and swimming, plus toning.

I thought exercise was meant to help you lose weight :( I guess it could be another plateau. Im just frustrated!

I'm going on vacation so I'm going to post my weight today for August. I had a great month! Ah now to battle vacation eating......mmmm I can almost taste the shrimp and grits now....

August SW 358.5

CW 342.2

Lost in August 15.7 lbs yeah!

aovermy-great suggestions I through some stuff together kinda quick for the ride up here, but I think I am going to hit the store for some stuff back nuts are a top priority that sounds so good.

Sun-very true, I can feel myself getting back into it though. So I think I just needed a little break to let my body maintain and than hit it hard again. You're doing so awesome I wouldn't even worry.

laurabow-the gym is a funny thing. More than likely you are gaining muscle, which we all know weighs more than fat, so I bet it's a loss, but nothing you can really weigh on a scale. I have to say though I get very annoyed with the gym last summer and than this round with CC I have actually lost more weight than I ever have with the gym by just walking and watching my calories. You know you're doing good though and that's all that matters and if you stick to it more than likly you will end up with a huge drop next month. Stay faithful you can do it.

Sunny-what a great loss that's incredible! Have fun on vacation, I am in the same boat trying to be very good for a good monthly weigh in when I get back.

Well fabulous news....I went shopping for a few things to wear on my weekend trip and I about went into shock. I got the cutest pair of jeans that were a 20 and a shirt that was 14/16 and a cute fall jacket that was a 16. I don't even know if I have ever been a 14/16 I don't remember anything smaller than a 22. I am just so amazed, and I hit 235 this morning, my lowest yet! I can't believe the difference in my body the weight loss has made it's just almost so drastic. I'm going to try to be very good this weekend and have a good weigh in Tuesday morning for my September 1st weigh in, but if no better than 235 I will stick with that. I am def not complaining about that number I have hit my 80lb. loss mark. September is going to be a good month I can already tell.

Good Luck Everyone!

Angie

Laura - do you up your cals on the days you work out?  I always feel like I need more anyway, but it could be creating too big of a deficit.  And, it could be muscle gain.  I had that when I started working out and know my legs are so much stronger then they were.  Now I'm strength training on top of cardio to help my arms out.  But, I haven't noticed a slow down in loss though this time.

Sunnyone, grats on the big loss!

And my weigh in today is 312 even!  It's my TOM, so I was going to be happy with at least a drop from the 314.4 to anywhere in the 313 range.  But, surprise!  So, I'm 1 lb away from my next goal and that much closer to starting my 11 lb countdown to no longer being over 300!   I'm so excited, seems unbelievable sometimes.

August SW: 322.4

SEPTEMBER is on the board!

Yay Liza and sunny! Liza, those 200s must feel so close. Great steady progress building lbs lost on lbs lost to get to it.  Hoping you get a great boost from September.  Sunny, what a great month loss to now head off for your vacation.  Enjoy yourself!

Im just coming off TOM so waiting until tomorrow morning - plus Ive been floating on a plateau with just today and yesterday showing the slightest drop so fingers crossed for manana.

Wishing everyone well for our current weigh in.  Whether its a great month or so-so, knowing the progress we've made is what its all about.  Two thirds through 2008 and another 4 months to finish off with a BANG!

Liza, you will be in the 200s in no time! That is wonderful!

I am happy for August to be ending, it was a roller coaster month, but I expect to end with at least a small loss tomorrow morning.

I have only lost about 17 pounds since Jan 1, which is not exactly great. On the other hand, I would rather be 17 pounds lighter than no pounds lighter (or, much worse, 17 pounds heavier!). It's all progress, slow though it may be. And there are still 4 months left this year. I just have to keep on going.

Just wanted to say that if any of you a teenager and need some support to please join my group and will be happy to help cheer you up the best I can! :D
