Hey everyone !

Just wanted to drop by and say Hello, I was having a rough week last week, I was craving everything, i think i would have ate the fridge if i could have fit it in my mouth !!

Anyway Im back on track =) Hope everyone is having a great month so far, looks like you are all doing very well !!

~K

LOL Korali and at least cravings do pass so great to hear you back to yourself :D.

My scale had the nerve to pop a 260 number back the very day of my 259.0 LOL but Im a back to just under 259 so feeling positive about this weeks weighin for the month.

With my freeze on grocery stores, I had gone through the home foods I had overlooked and now going through those which I previously preferred not to eat due to taste, not calories or health.  Im no martyr though - I actually enjoy not wasting them and knowing I can stop seeing them gather cobwebs LOL.

Dont get me wrong, Im not broke but must save to cover my year end tax bills and am behind schedule but already not as much.  I knew my vacation would do this but dont regret it as I had the time of my life. Also, in a hard to explain way its empowering that I can be resourceful to make this work as just as I had planned.
Well,  today I resumed my Forever Young Diet and Lifestyle that the doctor had put me on a while back and which I had lost 42 pounds on.  So I am expecting good results soon.  So this morning I rode the exercise bike for 7 1/2 minutes,  which is really a lot for me.  I think that the only reason that I was able to do that long is because I have been doing "the bike" in the pool.  I worked up to 31 minutes doing it yesterday. YEA!  And then after I did the stationary bike,  I had 16 oz of water,  and took a 15 minute rest and then walked on the treadmill for 7 1/2 minutes.  That took an awful lot out of me.  I am not going to make a practice of doing that long again.  I am hurting really bad now.  And I thought I was going to pass out.  I could barely get my breath.  So,  I may do 3 or 4 minutes on the treadmill for now,  and do the other 3 1/2 or 3 1/2 minutes on the stationary bike a second time.  Now I am waiting for my boiled eggs to cool down and I am going to eat 2 boiled eggs and either a banana or an apple for breakfast,  with another 16 oz bottle of water. I am feeling really motivated right now.  Thank you Lord!
Good for you humorpam! One thing I've discovered for muscle and joint pain (and oy, have I had pains with all those long walks and now the lifting again), is Tiger balm (it's a menthol/clove oil ointment. It stinks to high heaven, but does seem to work. Also, it's topical so not too likely to interfere with meds you may be taking.) if you don't like odor, a lot of places sell ointments with capssaicin, which is a topical anaesthetic.

Thanks for the advice.  I have never heard of that.  I may look into that.  I have chronic pain anyway,  so I don't know if it would help or not.
Yeah, not sure. I don't have chronic pain, just sore muscles after lifting and well, right now, after a 9+ mile walk, I've got some sore knees. I just put some of the capsaisin on (I'm at work, so stinky ointment, maybe not so good, here!)

Wow humorpam, that's fantastic!  When I first started out, I could only do about 10 minutes on my elliptical and now I'm up to 40 minutes at a much higher level than I started.  Those 7 minutes are wonderful!

Sun, you had a great amount of loss this month!  Grats!

Think my body is finally popping back from the meds I was taking.  Not as much of a loss this month as I had been averaging, but hey, loss is loss.  And I'm finally fitting into my older clothes!

Good job Liza! I can't do the eliptical.  It is simply too difficult for me.  Well,  I might last 30 seconds,  but that is about it.
I've tried exercise machines, like stationary bikes and treadmills, and I get bored too easily to be able to continue doing them. It's odd, because I can walk for miles and miles and not get bored, but put me on a treadmill and all I want to do is get off (luckily, I did not buy it!).
Well,  for me,  that is the only way that I can get any exercise,  other than hydrotherapy,  because if I walk on the street,  I can only get a half a block.  So,  for me,  it is better to use a treadmill.  I agree that it can get boring,  but I can't get too bored with just 7 1/2 minutes. LOL

You could always pop it in front of your tv =) that would help with the boredom !

I Have also been trying to use up all the stuff that we have in our pantry, I have so many diffrent types of beans, and pastas, etc. So ive been trying some new things, and cleaning at the same time =)

I reached my all time low today, 291.4 .. LOL thats .2 lbs lighter than I was before we went to Paris ! Hoping that there will be more weightloss before the end of the month =)

~K

Wow, pam, like the new pic!

I can't do the treadmill.  Well, I'm sure I could, but I never got into it.  Plus, there's more impact on knees, and I had surgery on my knee about 10 years ago after a car accident.  So, it makes a noise sometimes.  I find walking outside too hot most of the time.  And I only enjoy it somewhat if I take my dog with me.  Which is only sometimes doable.  I like putting something I'm going to watch anyway or something humerous on tv to distract me.  Time goes so much faster.

Korali, grats on the all time low!

Thanks Liza! I just got my hair done last week,  so I thought it was time to put up a new picture.

Way to go Korali! Good job!
Of course, I find the same problem with watching TV. I get bored after a few minutes. Reading, fortunately, does not cause that (go figure), nor does web browsing.

I should really post a before pic here.

I love seeing people change in pics.  I have some in my profile, but I have it locked for friends.  Just feel weird having random people see me.  But, anyone in here would be added as friend if they aren't already.

I get bored during commercials.  But reading is hard, with all the moving around when on the elliptical.  And I slow down.  So I channel surf.  Dunno, what I got used to I guess.

Im like you aovermy with the reading.  Before I got on the diet, I would get magazines that I wouldnt allow myself to read unless I was on the stationary bike which I wouldnt do until I started dieting. I get so engrossed in what Im reading, it works better for me than TV on a stationary bike.  Sorry to say 2 years of magazaines accumulated unread until I just cancelled the subscription LOL but at least the diet did eventually start.

I just realized that when I shortly get bumped of CC classic, Im going to be seeing everyone's avatars.  This will be interesting since Ive already got mental concepts of everyone (not that all use actual photos).

Pam, excited for you and I am huge on finding what works for each of us. You know that diet so feel you heading for successs and your enthusiasm is a real upper!  Liza, enojy wearing those smaller clothes again!  Yay Korali on your new low :D - you have your Paris memories and a lower weight for Oct 1st with a few days left too.

Pam- I'm really glad to hear you talked over your concerns with your therapist. Sounds like he understood and gave a good explanation of it. Measurements are a good thing to keep track of. I personally don't have enough patience to measure everything on my body, so I like the scale. I do like to see the difference in my clothes so that's kind of like measuring for me. Wow, awesome news about the bike and treadmill. That feeling of accomplishment and sometimes pain gives me a rush. Good luck! Like the new pic you look so happy!

aovermy- You look so good! How tall are you? I can't believe how close we are on weight. Congrats on the 218 that is just awesome! Is it just me or is it just kind of weird to look in the mirror now? Good luck on the weights, we're gona have some great weather for that now.

Sun-I hear ya on the budget woes I'm in the same position searching through my kitchen to try new things I just never wanted to make. Mostly because cooking was involved, I am not a cook. Congrats on the 259 that is just awesome you're gona have a great weigh in for the 1st!

korali-congrats on the low weigh in what a great encouragement for the future to know you have the ability to live life and still maintain a healthy weight:) Good luck!

liza-great to hear about the clothes. That has been my biggest encouragement and motivation to fit into some of my older stuff and even some smaller clothes I have started to slowly accumulate from like thrift stores so it doesn't look like my clothes have a life of their own. I'm glad things are working themselves out from the meds. You are very right in saying a loss is a loss!

I agree with everyone I like the convience of the machines, but I get really bored after awhile. I kind of try to mix it up if my only option is a machine like on a treadmill I'll jog for a bit, walk as fast as I can, sprint, cool down, do some weights and than kind of repeat for so long, but otherwise I really just like walking outside. I'm a big environment watcher so everything around me keeps me interested. I do mix up my walks so I don't get bored with the same old routine.

So great news Sunday I hit 224 I have not been 224 in about 6 yrs. not sure why, but I always held onto that number when I was younger that's the lowest I remember since like second grade. That number is also my 90lb. loss mark. I am just exstatic about the way I feel health wise and that I'm so close to 100lb loss.

I went to meet a friend the other night and was standing in front of my mirror getting dressed and I was buttoning up my shirt and my hands, wrists and arms just stood out. It was the weirdest thing I didn't recognize them. I looked up and for a second I didn't recognize my face. It was literally like an out of body experience. I'm actually a little scared to keep losing weight. I know I want to and need to for my health, but I'm starting to get anxiety about being a completely different person on the outside. It's weird something I want so bad now and have always wanted actually scares me.

Weigh in for October 1: 214.

Well, last day of the month, and I'm at 214!!! Yeah, I broke the 218 barrier. I had a great 2nd half of the month and the good thing is, I'm energized for October as well! Heck I even took my walk/run in the rain yesterday. I just threw on a plastic rain poncho and headed out.

renaer14, I'm 5'8, and given the size of my collarbones, I'm guessing a medium or large frame.

Weigh in for October 1st

Glad to say I am 318lbs, I have just had a week in a hotel with lovely food and a good rest so I thought I would come back with a huge weight gain but I must be doing this right.

I am all inspired again to push for a bit loss before Christmas, cant wait to break the 300 barrier.

Weigh in for Oct 1st 290.8 ... oh well its a loss at least !!

Hope everyone is doing wonderfully =) Im busy with school etc, so i dont get a chance to write here much !
