Hi Everyone!

I'm so sorry that I did not get my information in for September.  The last two months have been a giant plateau for me, which I thought I had beat, but it seems to be back.  Who knows, but hopefully it will work out soon.  I tried increasing my calories for a few weeks and now I am going to start slowly moving back down.

If anyone has any tips on getting over the plateau hill, please message me.  I have got some great advice from other CC'ers but I would love to hear from those that have started in the same weight range as me and want to lose a similar amount of weight (which is why I love this group!).  Take care all.

Holding steady at 258.. which is fine with me since I hurt both my knee and my ankle this month, and started school again.. but I think I have enough experience with this "near maintenance" stuff and am ready to lose some serious weight again!!

Hi folks,

I'm still 309, so a loss of exactly 0 in a month. Hmmmm, wake up call.

Matt

Punk, so glad to hear from you! I'll carry your 08/01 to 09/01 or otherwise let me know how I should list it.  Also coming off a summer plateau although mine just started moving on its own but I was a bit spoiled prior to wait it out LOL.

Thanks all for the updates!  Denise, you sound ready and have 3 2008 months left to give it your all.  Korali, you might have our 'best' loss this month - one that comes with a European vacation :D.  Way to make good of a month with the included vacation!

Great month Wobbley and I agree, good pre holiday losses can has its own advantages of feeling great going into them plus it can serve as "insurance".  That is SOME spirit aovermy - I think for most, rain would be a deal breaker.  Yay for breaking 218 and look at you heading down to the 200 mark!

Clocking in at 257.0 - its always funny to me to have that ".0", so exact.

Also, wanted to mention - OCTOBER OCTOBER OCTOBER!

Witches and goblins are the least of our worries.  Beware of pending Octoberfest and trick or treats - OCTOBER is a great opportunity to move the scale pre-thanksgiving/ christmas so with today being the 1st and a month ahead of us, lets take full advantage!

Hey Everyone. Time for my greatest weigh in yet.

SW: 320 lbs.

SEPT 1st: 196 lbs.

OCT 1st: 184 lbs.

MONTH LOSS: 12 lbs.

TOTAL LOSS: 136 lbs.

So if you didn't know already, 185 was my main goal. So I have hit it. I hit it about a week ago and I have switched over to maintaining and so far, so good. I don't quite know how I was able to get those last 11 pounds off this past month, but it happened. I really stuck to my goals and toughed it out. And now I get to eat more. Yay! It's a great reward for watching every calorie and not eating certain foods for 10 months. But maintaining is a very strange thing. I almost feel guilty for eating more. It doesn't feel right. But I guess it will take some time to get used to it.

I just wanted to take a second to thank all of you here. I have met and talked with a lot of different CC'ers since I started here, but you all have a special place in my heart. This group, full of wonderful people, knows what it's like to be over 300 pounds and struggle every day to lose weight. We all know how tough society can be on us and how hard it is to change our habits. But you all here are taking the right step being on here. I am proof that CC can work and does work. So no matter how tough your day, week, month, year may be, just remember to keep fighting. My dad used to always tell me that time will pass whether or not you are moving with it. So you might as well keep moving.

I plan to stick around here with all of you and keep checking in. I fear if I don't have an obligation to weigh in, I might slip up. So I will continue to weigh in and be here for anyone that needs advice or a pat on the back. Thank you all again for being here. You have no idea how much you have helped me through this battle. My new life is just beginning.

-Brett

Fantastic news Big(small)brett22,

I know I am fairly new to this group but you are going to be my inspiration. I am very glad you are going to stick around, I feel I may need your support over the next 12-24 months!!!lol

kind regards, Wobbly

aovermy-YAH! i'm so excited for you that is awesome. LOL, I have the same issue with my collarbones. I always thought I was big boned and they have affirmed it.

wobbly-Congrats, great news. I love hearing about life experiences that show it is possible to still have a life and maintain. Good luck on your Christmas goal. You can do it.

korali-No gain is the positive thing and a loss is a loss! Good job!

punk-Good luck on your plateau, I find drinking lots of water helps me and I make sure to have my free day once a week. Upping my calories once a week seems to really boost my metabolism.

denise-Hope you get to feeling better. It's nice to feel in control and be able to maintain even during injuries.

buffalomatt-Good luck with October. No gain is a wonderful thing! You can do it.

Sun-Great job! I forgot about Thanksgiving. I've just been so focused on the week to week I never even thought about the holidays. Great motivation!

big(little)brett-You're amazing! You're such a great inspiration. I'm so happy to hear you have met your goal. You've been so focused and now it has all payed off! I'm glad your sticking around, you've been my model since the very beginning and now knowing you have hit your goal makes me even more excited. Great job!!

SW:315

CW:224

GW:140-150

10lbs. down I'm happy with that considering August was a bit of a bust, it felt like. I feel back on track and in control. I'm excited for the next couple months. Seeing all my family for Thanksgiving and Christmas is going to be so much different. I'm not going to feel like the out of control fat girl. I hope to even be past my 100lb loss mark to so that's going to be exciting to have my family see the new me.

Good luck everyone!!

CW: 182 :-)

OH YOU DIVAS!!!  Sun, Danielle, everybody else - you are just inspiring!!!!  I am hanging on by a thread sometimes.  I remember when gaining health was a joyful, energizing challenge.  I don't have much extra energy to give right now, but I keep climbing back onto the wagon.  It's a day-by-day thing:

SW: 305

CW: 225.5

Total lost: 79.5  (okay with me...  for now...)     Ciao!!!!

CW edited for being crazy/not paying attention and making myself 50.2 lbs heavier than I actually am (LOL)

September wasn't as good to me as past months....

SW 385

CW 338.6

Total lost 46.4   September loss 4.2lbs

I'm expecting to reach another goal in October of 50lbs lost!  It so great to hear from others who have or had a lot of weight to lose and see their success it gives me motivation that I too can do it.  Thanks everyone!  Great job on the weight loss for September its just amazing!

For someone who only started months ago sunny, you are zooming! Great Oct goal!  Tina I didnt think so on the 50 lbs - thanks for correcting that. Ang, Ive forgotten the earlier month already (imagine that) but if you feel off track and lost 10 lbs, gotta say, "Wow!".

Matt you slipped in bewfore my last posts and your wakeup call made me grin but you've had great months so thinking you'll do fine October!  Brett AND Denise  (who slipped in quietly Wink), what an example you provide for hanging in all the way!  Brett, thanks for your encouraging words - they carry such truth but can be forgotten on a long journey.  Your dad had it right on! Glad we will still have you and Danielle as we trek to 2009.

WOW im so impressed with everyones numbers this month !!

I have decided that October is gonna be my month !! Im going to try 100% to get atleast to the 270's thats 11lbs ... I hope i can do it !

Brett .. we are gonna have to call u TinyBrett from now on =) Im so inspired by you all !!

Sun you before and afters look amazing !!!!!!!!!!! ( i cant type enough excalmation marks to say how amazed i am)

Great work everyone !!

~K

My October weight is 327.  I am not pleased! I'm getting frustrated. How many pounds will your weight continue to go up while you are exercising more and building muscle, before it starts going down again? I know without a doubt that I am gaining muscle. I can feel it and I have been doing more exercising and some with weights. So that is a certainty, that I have been gaining muscle. But my weight keeps going up. When will it stop, level off, and start going down? Does anyone know?

Maybe you should try taking measurements ? There might be a huge diffrence there =)

I found that sometimes even if my weight didnt go down much, I had lost a few inches. Maybe that may help you =)

k

Thanks Korali.  I am taking your advice.  I have just taken my measurements,  so I will have a baseline.

Thanks Korali - I can just imagine some of the before and afters we could find in our group.  Im with you on October too!! Really wanting to go into the Thanks/Christmas holidays feeling the best I can since I'll be seeing folks Ive not for a while.  Im up for the "Korali 100%" for October!

Pam, I am so excited for you and your workouts~  Im sorry that your having to work with your scale through this but want to congratulate you on getting healthy and putting in the time for activity.  Keep up the awesome work!

Wow, great numbers on here!  It's absolutely inspiring.  Especially people who are on here were at one point over 300 but have a 1 in the front!   I mean, I read the 100 weights and think, wait, you're in here?  And just reminds me that we all will be someday soon enough.

Brett, awesome job!  Any pics of you at your goal weight?  Love the before and afters cause it helps to visually remind me I'm going to do it too.

Humorpam, measurements are great to do.  I know that even when the scale is being scatty, I feel good seeing the inches drop.  Remember, muscle takes up less room than fat, so even with more muscle, you're probably still getting smaller.  And once you start losing again, your metabolism will be so much better and you'll burn more too.

Sept 1: 312.0

Oct 1 (well, 2nd...I refused to take yesterday's amount cause I knew it was off): 306.4

So, a 5.6 lb loss.  I was aiming for the 10 that I've been doing, but couple things caught me up.  Just frustrated with my ups and downs this month.  At one point, I saw 315 on the scale.  Still, that's a loss I'm definitely happy with.  Ok, if by Nov 1 I'm not yet under 300, I'll just have to kick my own bum.  Cause I refuse to let that happen.  11 lbs sounds like a great and doable goal.  Hmmm, maybe that should be mine for this month too.

Sounds great to me ! Im shooting for 11lbs this month, I hope we all lose 11 or more this month !!

~k

What an inspiration you guys all are! I read these posts and get so pumped up. I'm with you korali, I'm on top of that challenge "Korali 100%" for October. 11lbs this month is the goal. sun, you look so great I love the before and after pictures. I get so much motivation out of seeing pictures like that. Even my own inspire me to push on. After losing 90lbs. I am def on top of losing the next 70lbs. before I know it I'll be pounding out the last 20lbs.

Thanks to everyone, you guys make this journey so much fun and do able!

Good luck everyone, we are doing it:)
