Hi Maddie, this thread is ended now and we have all switched to the new one Countdown to 2010 ( see the link at the top of this page)

Tell us about yourself if you are 300 or above Sun/Jayne (who runs the group)and all of us would love to have you join.

Maddie glad you found us on the new thread and with your info there, Ive added you!

Everyone has updated and running our totals on this one from Jan 1 for the year - will update!

The bad, good and best news:

Start with the bad - not really "bad" LOL but we took a hit this month - guess if there would be a month, December would be it with the holidays.  With gains balancing out the losses, we kind of stood still with a 1.5 lb total loss for the group.  Not so bad for just one month which leads us up to the good news.

The good is that through 2008, we lost 993.9 lbs!  That 'almost 1000 lbs' includes some who came on board mid year before they started losing.  993.9, what a number - we can be seriously proud of our persistance of having continued month after month which brings us to our best news.

The very best - EVERY member is returning for the new 2009 thread!  How awesome is that! Further confirmation for those who didnt lose or gained that this was just one month - forward and onward to continued success.

Congratulations to all you big losers!

LOL - must be why they call you humorpam!

LOL - What can I say?

83 pounds lost, that is so awesome! If that don't motivate you I don't know what will. I've been doing real good the last few days to get back in gear and start losing again. I sure hope I do better on the next Holidays than I did this time. I've already got off 3 pounds of what I had gained. I actually smiled this morning when I got on them scales.  I'm so happy Sun that you started this group.

Carol, Its kind of funny - I can still remember thinking, "There have got to be more there like me who arent trying to lose just 20, 50 or even 100 lbs and know the commitment to hang in there all the way."  In fact, I came in at 465 and only had seen one member starting above 300 so thought its time for us to join forces :D.

I had that smile - I had a BIG bump after Jan 1st (AUGH!) and except for one meal couldnt justify it and so tonight coming home to 220 was a big grin maker!  I think for many with the holidays, January will be a great rebound month and see your right on track - that smiles going to get bigger Laughing

edited: thanks pam

Sun,  do you mean 320 or do you mean 220?

OMG - gained 100 lbs! I do that all the time, Pam.

I thought that seemed like an awful large gain for you all of a sudden. LOL

So far so good, I've got another 2 pounds to get off to get me back to where I was before Christmas. I'm going to go with a friend to the YMCA on Friday to start working out there. My energy level isn't as high as it was before Christmas, so I'm a little worried about that. Maybe it's because my body is carving all the sweets I ate around the holidays. Undecided I started back on my walking aerobics on Monday and the energy just isn't there, but I'm doing it. I know everything will get back to normal and I can continue on losing like I was.

I wouldnt be surprised, mnic if its not the body's adjustment energy conservation wise to the reduced calories and hope that settles out for you.  Thats great about the YMCA - my friend mentioned Curves in the spring but now she's considering just joining me doing Wii fitness.

Funny this thread still being open - feel like Im two-timing the new one Tongue out
Officially more new members than returning ones - awesome to have more than double our forces! Hoping to see all year end!

Wow! Jayne and Brett congradulations! I am so proud of both of you and everyone else who stuck with it. Well after I stopped logging on to this site and posting in this thread Ive been going up and down and up and down. Right now Im at about 305 lbs. 13 lbs higher than my lowest, but I didnt let it get completely out of control.

Ive moved to San Diego for school with some friends from Northern California. Its been pretty crazy.. Really hard to stay focused on being healthy in my house. But it is no excuse, I know it can be done because it has been done here. Over the summer I partied to hard and have found myself doing the same a little bit down here. Right now I am going to school full time taking 16 units. Working 30 hours a week. Finding time for the gym is really hard. But luckily for me my job keeps me on my feet and moving. It just started and I know Im gonna lose a bunch of weight with it.

Im gonna join the other thread for this new year and hopefully stay on longer than I did last time.. Glad to see everyone is doing well. You guys all really helped me out when I was in L.A. and just starting this diet thing.

Jack, jack, snack attack! So good to hear from you.  You did some great management control in your abscence. It can be so easy return to old weights with such distractions.  Sounds like a great set up for being active at work, where so many of us end up sitting, sitting and more sitting.

Looking forward to seeing you on the new thread.  Your old buddy Brett his goal - Danielle too and both are aboard for 2009.  You'll see some other familiar names too.

Congrats to everyone who made it all year!  That is so amazing :)  I wish I would have stuck to it.  I didn't make it but I'm back working really hard this year.

Hi Joy, good to see you again!  It is a new year - looking forward to having you as part of the new thread :D
