Counting calories burned through Activity question:
Say the activity I do burns 200 calories in 30 minutes - and I do a 30 minute workout. Should I eat 200 calories more?
OR - since I would've burned 60 calories anyway should I eat 140 calories more?
Thanks for any assist.
When you log your activities, you'll notice that the time you spent exercising is already subtracted from your BMR on the Account Home page.
You can trust that the number it gives you is very close to what you will need.
My normal calorie expenditure is 1,440 minutes - 1833 calories
On Friday my Actvities added up to 650 minutes - 1505.7
My calorie intake was 1343
So, if I deduct 650 activity minutes from 1440 minutes that leaves 790 minutes at my normal calorie burning expenditure (1440/1833 = 1.27 calories burned per minute)
790 x 1.27 = 1,005.6 calories burned normal expenditure
plus 1505.7 calories burned in activity = 2511 calories total burned.
Shouldn't my calories intake for the day change? The Red Bar still reads 1300

If you burn 100 calories an hour being sedentary, then work out for an hour and use 200 calories, you've burned a total of 2500 calories that day: 100 calories for every hour you were inactive, plus two hundred calories for the hour you exercised.
If you're trying to lose 1lbs/week, eat 2000 that day; if you're trying to lose 2lbs/week, eat 1500 that day; trying to gain 1lbs/week, eat 3000... you get the idea.
Calories burned from working out are no different from the calories you burn exercising your muscles every minute of every day.
CC+ tells you how much you burn every day depending on your activity level, when you add exercise, it adds it all up nice and tidy, that is to say, in our imaginary scenario, it would read 2500 just like it ought to. It never changes your eat meter, only you do that.
The only way to mess up this system is to put down "moderate activity" because you're active and exercise, then add your exercise on top of that. If you wanna log your activities, pick sedentary or light, if you don't and you do exercise a lot, pick moderate or very active.
Your right that if you calculate you burn 200 cals in 30 minutes of exercise, about 60 of that you would have burned anyway. But if you are adding this exercise to your activity log, CC will figure this out for it, and not allow you to count the calories burned twice so to speak. So you dont have to worry about it because this site takes care of that for you.
