Why are country girls so small?
Less McD's.
PINKY: gee i dunno brain, why are county girls so small?
Brain: So they can take over the world...
Because they spend all day plowing the fields

haha
Because they do more physical labor. I lived in the country for 6 years and i stayed thin( muscled too) then we moved in town. Now I'm flabby. It sucks
in my experience country girls are no thinner than city girls. if anything country girls have all that home cooking to fatten them up while city girls are whiny uptight "omg carbs run~!" girls. maybe because you dont see as many country girls in general so the few you do see you make a large assumption on?
Disclaimer: This is all overgeneralize!
The first thing that popped into my mind is the bread/drink issue. Most of the city people I've come into contact with eat a lot of white bread. Country people eat wheat bread... It's major difference between my family and my husbands. They also run to corner store/fast food chain for a quick snack. That's not going to happen if you live in the country because it's not worth the trip, imo. -Gas/Time wise.
In addition some city people don't use their herbs/spices for taste. They eat more fatty/greasy food instead of seasoning things. They also cook a lot less that people from the country, imo. They either nuke things in the microwave and/or eat out. City people also drink more soda/red bull/koolaid/ etc too... Whereas Southerners are raised on more tea/water/milk and become coffee guzzlers as adults. Lol! j/k. It could have something to do with country folk being corn fed too. In the country people grow a lot of their own produce/etc.
It actually varies from family to family to be honest though. Some country folk want to fry everything,Lol. Things that otherwise started out as perfectly healthy. It goes straight from the garden to the frying pan. :)
:) There are fatter/thinner people on both sides of the spectrum though.
this country girl calls BS on your generalization!
In my experience with a lot of country people: country sample group = Same percentages.

City people are thinner because of their music videos. ;)
It's because they all run track and/or cross country.

wow, in my experience, i think things are exactly the opposite!
which cites are you talking about? around here city people aren't like that at all!
i feel like city people are generally slimmer. i walk a lot just during my daily commute. and travel by public transportation a lot more often than by car, which always entails walking, stairs, etc.
and as for city people eating a lot of junk, i totally disagree there also. most of the people i know who live in the city are into heathier foods and shop at whole foods, trader joes or the farmers market. they wouldn't touch soda or white bread with a ten foot pole.
and on the other side, my friends who live in a small town hit the drive through, center all social gatherings around food, never walk anywhere, and are all heavier.

It was all overgeneralize just for fun to add to the conversation.
Cali: Torrance/ Long Beach/ Los angeles/Orange county/ Anaheim/Thousand Oaks.
It was actually implied it was ' tacky ' that I ordered water by my husbands family.Half of my family also lives in California on my dad's side. :) They're very concerned with trans fat and that's about it! imho. :) They talk about staying away from carbs like it's one of The Ten Commandments. Lol!
:: whispers:: They still eat um though! ![]()
Btw: The OP may have actually meant small as in stature/frame. I'm not sure if the OP was strictly making reference to weight. I'm barely 5'2 so generally a lot shorter/smaller than most people. There are fatter short people too but they're still considered small/little people. imo.
I blame genetics for that, Lol.
