In what country would you honeymoon?
And why?
Ireland
We honeymooned in Hawaii and absolutely loved it planning our 10 year anniversayr there. I just love the warmth of the people, the culture, how each island has it's own personality, we rented a jeep and just drove whever and ended up on a beautiful beach and we were the only ones there, also loved the hikes and listening to the waves put us to sleep each night from or hotel room (one of the best memories hearing the ukalelie (sp?) and waves out or window as we drifted off to sleep). I have been to Maui and Oahu next trip planning on the Big Isalnd.
Also would love to go to Bora Bora, Italy, Greece, China
I am from Greece and I always recommend the islands specially if you're getting married in the summer, but I went to Tahiti for mine, to Bora Bora and I was amazed. I love Greece but I don't regret my honeymoon choice. That was a true honeymoon place. The only downfault was that is full of honeymooners that don't really looking forward to interact with other people and it can be boring at night specially if you're used to sleep late like me and my husband do..., everything closes around 10 except very few places, no places with music to dance but there's so many things to do during the day that I guess is ok... is honeymoon after all...
Greece... have always wanted to honeymoon there... I had the chance to go about 5 years ago and I decided to save it for my honeymoon... not sure why I liked the idea of Greece, but now I can't wait since the water and country is SO beautiful!

greek isles! cruise! best.vacations.ever. great food, great drink, beautiful people, bouncy beds... gotta have a balcony though. this has been my goal for a honeymoon for about... 8 yrs I think.
This is where I "honeymooned" (25 years ago), and it was truly fantastic! Not to mention romantic! Go in May or June if you can, before it gets to hot and plan on spending extra time on Santorini!

I would go for anywhere warm and out of this country. I have a 'virgin' passport...
I didn't know they put that information on you passport. I assume that your status would be changed for the return trip.
i want to go to japan...its a big $$$ trip so getting married would definitely be an excause for it.
I just think that the culture and architecture is really interesting and I would love to see it first hand. Plus, I'd love to see all the hondas over there :) (i like cars)
Kokomo!
Why?

The Beach Boys say it all...Good Times!

Fiji, because the islands are beautiful and the people are wonderful, and it is such a long trip I would never go just for a vacation.
Anywhere on the continent of Africa... I love it! Safari then beach... so maybe South Africa and Mozambique or Kenya/Tanzania (We are doing that this year but not for a honeymoon).
Corsica. DH and I went on a cycling trip there several years ago and I found it to be the most jaw-dropping, beautiful place on earth (the Northern part of the Island much more than the South).
We went in February, when the weather was warm during the day and cool at night and nary a tourist could be seen.
Also, Paris is my absolute favourite city in the world next to Montreal. The Latin Quarter is the most romantic place to be.
Other recommendations would include: Provence (Lubéron); Nice (expensive); Austria (Tirol); Chamonix (or anywhere around the Haute Savoie region -- i.e., Mont Blanc); Florence (go in the off season, not in the summer) and Montreal (great because you get the feel of Europe without the language / monetary constraints).
I haven't been to Greece, but I really, really want to go. Ditto Prague.
Oh! I hear Oslo is outstanding.
Oh I've been married twice but never really had a honeymoon. Poor me, and my prospects aren't very good for a 3rd go, but I would love to honeymoon in the English countryside. Not sure why, but I've always wanted to go there.
We honeymooned in Greece, did the wedding in Kefalonia and then went to Crete, at the most amazing hotel: Grecotel Amirandes... you have to check it out, here's the link, it was just wonderful: http://www.grecotel.com/crete/amirandes/welco me_88.htm
America the Beautiful. =)
We honeymooned in Napa Valley and in San Francisco, and we had a blast. We spent most of our time going to very small wineries, enjoying the scenery, and eating great food.
If I have a runaway groom, I'm going to hold an auction for his spot to St. Lucia....highest bidder!!!
italy-venice, its really really breathtaking and beautiful.
We went to the French Riveria. Wanted some place we both hadn't been yet and some place not quite as busy and demanding to be explored the whole time. And Paris, cause the extra flight didn't matter
We lived in Germany for 10 yrs and Greece for 4 and traveled all the time so the for 15 yrs of our life was a honeymoon. Did go to France, Paris for my 21st. B.D. Spain, Italy. The Greece Islands, Turkey, Holland. The only place left I want to go is England, Ireland.
We were going to stop off and spend a couple days at Yellowstone en route to Vancouver, BC, but we liked Yellowstone so much we spent all 8 days of our honeymoon there.
In my situation now, though, I'd go to New Zealand.
I totally forgot about this thread, but I'm soooo glad so many of you have posted!!!
I've been to Italy, and while I definitely wouldn't mind going back, I also wanted to go somewhere completely different. (Though eventually the FH needs to go there and see the Colosseum. It's just to fantastic not to see. As well as just about everything else in Rome, lol.)
And since we'll probably be vacationing over winter break, somewhere warm! (Although we were thinking about Norway. OMG, cruise along the shoreline? AMAZING.)
New Zealand is a definitely possibility. My sister is there right now and her pictures look amazing!
I've heard Greece wasn't as beautiful as Italy, but maybe that just depends on where you are. I'd be worried it'd be too cold to enjoy the Isles in December.
But some of you have suggestions I have never even thought about like Corsica, or the Czech Republic, Fiji, Bora Bora, Dubai, Morocco.... Now I have tons of research to do!!!! :D
I personally would love to go to China or Japan, but I think it would be a little too much of a culture shock for the fiance. I want to go somewhere that might have something resembling something he might eat... Lol.
I will NEVER go to Australia though. I have watched too many disasterous deaths on the nature channel to go there. I will be praying for my sister every day she is there. O_O
Where can I see 1/8th or 1/6th of a pie or angel food cake?
This is the best way to picture a portion of pie or cake: Draw a circle to represent the circumference of the cake or pie (9" pie? 10" cake?... Read more
