Couples- what do you do in the evenings?

Besides that! :P

Last night after the kids got in bed we watched a movie. When the movie was done, we just sat there occasionally saying "what do you want to do now?". We weren't tired but out of boredom we went to bed.

So what do you all do to put the evening in?

Have a huge argument about how to load the dishwasher correctly, and then we spend the rest of the evening making up. You know...making up. ;)

It just isn't as much fun without the argument first though...

hehe, if we had a huge argument (and that would never happen...), we would spend the rest of the evening being mad at each other, and then part of the next day as well!

 Wow. We argue about how to fry an egg, how to fold towels....to have the lid ON or OFF the pot to boil water....

Seriously...how about board games? Snuggle in bed reading books....take a bath..together.

Wow - I wish we had time for entire movie by the time the boys went to bed.  If we're actually able to squeeze one in, we go to bed immediately afterwards.  Now most of the time we get in 1-1.5 hours of something stacked up on our TiVO before we need to get to bed ourselves, but we don't hesitate to skip the TV to play a game or two, or just go to bed early and cuddle.

When the boys went to bed earlier and there was nothing in particular to watch, we played a lot of games - mostly cards while playing some good music in the background, but other games we hadn't played in years like Othello, Trivial Pursuit, Monopoly, etc.  We were also very big on reading books to each other - especially comedy books.

Once the kids are in bed we eat dinner and watch all the stuff we recorded on our dvr. I usually fart around on the computer if he is watching something I'm not all that interested in. Then I go to bed and he farts around on the computer. Then he goes to bed. I can't remember the last time we played a game or just sat and listened to music. Oh well. Too much to watch on tv. Like tonight is the premier of Top Chef.

I am hoping that when the kids are a little older, we will have a little more energy to do other things. Right now though, it seems like I just try to make it thru the day so that I can have some quiet time in the evening to just unwind and have a glass of wine and veg out. He pretty much feels the same way after getting home from work. He has a long commute so is usually pretty tired by the time he gets home. Now I see that we are pretty boring.

you're not boring lulu! when the kids are really young, it's called "surviving". lol

My kids are getting a little bit older now, and if he's not working, we have from 8ish-midnight. For awhile our favorite activity to do as a couple was read the "after hours chat"!

We have oodles of great games, but he's not big on gaming. His current goal is to watch the top 100 movies of '07 (we started this last year, obviously). So far, about 40 down.

my bf and I play video games, lol. Watch movies, watch tv. Play boardgames occasionally. Play chess or cards.

but you don't always have to do everything as a couple... we could both be doing our own hobbies in the same room and be content.

Watch a movie together then have sex! 

Tell random stories off the top of your head and see who can come up with the weirdest one.

Wrestle... I know it sounds silly but you don't have to hurt each other to move around together.  It gives you that contact that you need in a relationship and its fun,  even though he'll probably win.

You could also try doing an art project together.  My bf and i have done drawings by passing one back and forth letting each person add on a piece.

If you ever make meals in advance, you could do that together too.

Massages are also great!

for some reason my fiance and i act really stupid at night. like we make fart noises and have tickle fights and say really dumb immature things and just laugh at each other. it's fun though... we both enjoy just letting loose and forgetting about the stuff we're always so stressed out about. we usually just do that until we're too tired to do it anymore then i make him draw on my back with his fingers and then i rub his shoulders and we go to bed. :)

My boyfriend is a chef so often he teaches me how to cook things (not very diet conducive, I know!)

Other than that... watch movies, drink cups of tea, laugh and play-wrestle, read books and the newspaper, go on the computer, hire quiz shows for playstation, swap massages, kiss and cuddle, drink a glass of good wine, get all the boring chores done, listen to records or the radio, fall asleep on the couch together, ring up friends to say hello/invite friends round for drinks and canapes, take a bath or shower together (me and the boy not me and our friends! lol), do crosswords and trivia quizzes, and/or talk dirty to each other until we both suddenly decide its bedtime (!)

And just generally make plans for world domination

We go for a walk but now since it gets dark earlier, we do it the first thing when he gets home.

we watch movies, give massages, cuddle, talk about our day, have sex a couple of times, and eventually give in to some sleep...

What's wrong with just doing that?

well.... my b/f and I are in school still. so we do homework together... we're study buddies... FUN!

on days where we just want to relax we usually play cards and watch tv, have a beer, snuggle, tickle, just kick back... *sigh* maybe I'll have time for that this weekend :)

We fixed dinner for our children and his ailing parents, cleaned up dinner, put clothes in the washer and dryer, did homework, fixed a night time snack, cleaned that up,  picked up the oldest son from work, took care of scheduling University classes for #2 son and then CRASHED. No time for any fun stuff. I would like just once to go to a movie together, childless.

Tonight I will need to add going to my boss' house and fixing her computer, taking my son to bball practice in addition to the above. Yeah what fun.

Pretty much all we do is have sex for fun. LMAO. It's kind of sad, really. Other then that we usually do our own thing. He'll read or watch tv or get on the comp., I'm either watching him play games on the comp., working out, on the comp. myself, watch some tv, Do dishes, take out the trash,  I'll go outside for a smoke (damn stress. haha.)...that's really about it. Once in awhile we'll watch a movie or tv show together. Life is kind of boring right now. :/
