Cracker Barrel.

Quote  |  Reply
I remember seeing a thread where people asked if they could add Cracker Barrel to the calorie-count, but I haven't been able to find anything since then regarding calories.

I ask because I have been eating healthy for 1 1/2 weeks now, losing 3 pounds already, and today is my last day at this company and they are taking me out for lunch to Cracker Barrel (because it's right by our building).

So, anyone who eats there have any ideas as to what is healthy or appx. how many calories are in certain dishes?  Or, if you eat there, how you approximate calories?

Thanks so much!  I'm trying to stay on track, and I don't want one lunch to mess me up!

I was just about to post a question on this.  I wish they would release information for some more of their dishes.  Some of the other entrees seem like they could be decent as well, but they only list these few....
I'd say veggies would be your best bet, seeing as how most of their meat (chicken, steak) is probably fried.  Stick with things like steamed green beans, broccoli, etc.  Sweet potatoes or mashed potatoes are probably prepared with butter and whole milk.  Ask if you can get your food made without added oil.  Lots of restaurants will do that for you.  Country cookin' can be healthy, but only if you cut down on condiments and butter, and try to stick to veggies!
brighteyes, where did you get that information?  I've searched before for Cracker Barrel and it seems they don't publish nutritional information.

I usually look at the Bob Evans menu and use that information, because it's similar to Cracker Barrel
its posted on healthydiningfinder.com but only for those few foods..they won't give out the info for anything else unfortunately
Yes indeed, thats where I got it it from---sorry I missed this post some how.
Hey thanks for all the information!

I've eaten at cracker barrell a few times since this post... and think I choose fairly well.  I try not to eat there, but it's like a southern staple, and everyone always chooses it!
