Cranberry Orange Syrah Relish Recipe

Cranberry relish with Syrah and Orange

Ingredients
12 oz cranberries
1/4 cup red wine
1/4 cup orange juice
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 oz gelatin
Directions
  1. Bring liquids and sugar to boil

  2. Add Crandberries, stir until they pop

  3. Allow to cool and refridgerate

  4. Separte 1/4 cooled mixture into medium bowl. Sprinkle gelatin (2 individual packets of Knorr unflavored) atop and allow to rest.

  5. Reheat 3/4 mixture on stove top. Meanwhile, stir the remaining cool mixture to fulling incorporate the gelatin.

  6. When stove top mixture simmers/boils, add gelatin mixture and incorporate fully.

  7. Remove from heat, allow to cool. Refridgerate overnight to set.

  8. Gently warm or bring to room temperature to serve - slicing is optional.

  9. Optional garnish: Orange/Lemon rind or slices, cranberries.

  10. Optional substitution: Cherry-flavored (or other flavors as fancied) gelatin for unflavored.

  11. Optional substition for wine: Grape juice - Concord or Merlot - reduce sugar by 2 tablespoons
