Cranberry Orange Syrah Relish Recipe
Cranberry relish with Syrah and Orange
| 12 | oz cranberries |
| 1/4 | cup red wine |
| 1/4 | cup orange juice |
| 3/4 | cup sugar |
| 1/2 | cup water |
| 1 | oz gelatin |
- Bring liquids and sugar to boil
- Add Crandberries, stir until they pop
- Allow to cool and refridgerate
- Separte 1/4 cooled mixture into medium bowl. Sprinkle gelatin (2 individual packets of Knorr unflavored) atop and allow to rest.
- Reheat 3/4 mixture on stove top. Meanwhile, stir the remaining cool mixture to fulling incorporate the gelatin.
- When stove top mixture simmers/boils, add gelatin mixture and incorporate fully.
- Remove from heat, allow to cool. Refridgerate overnight to set.
- Gently warm or bring to room temperature to serve - slicing is optional.
- Optional garnish: Orange/Lemon rind or slices, cranberries.
- Optional substitution: Cherry-flavored (or other flavors as fancied) gelatin for unflavored.
- Optional substition for wine: Grape juice - Concord or Merlot - reduce sugar by 2 tablespoons
