Cravings
I want something to eat. It's not that I'm hungry, I just want something sweet. I keep telling myself no, and that if I can just stay on track the rest of today and tomorrow, then I can order from that mexican restaurant I've been craving all week.
What do you guys do when a craving hits but you want so hard not to give in to it?

Eat some fruit. Your body may be legitimately telling you it's hungry. Eat something that your body will benefit from.
I bought some Jello Sugar Free cups, 10 calories a cup.
I've discovered that sometimes, suprisingly, a sugar-free rootbeer hits the spot.
Eat a pickle - I promise as wierd as it sounds, it will kill your craving in no time flat :-)
I agree with avantslot, but sometimes my problem is picking up the pickle jar when I'm in a pickle. :)
I thought I am all alone in the universe... Guavas are very low on Calories (around 20 calories per lb!!!) they make a great juice with little skim milk and sweetener instead of sugar. You can also semi-freeze it and mash it for a sweet treat. Pick the white soft to the touch ones. Pity I can't find them in England.
Sometimes I just give in. As long as it is a once in a blue, blue moon occurance, I don't tourture myself.
Also, I trade off. If I really have to have that soft pretzel at work, I eat a lighter dinner.
Last, but not least, I measure calories in terms of how long on the treadmill at 6.8 and an incline of .5 it will take to burn it off.
Favorite guilt free treats:
Sugar free jello cups - 10 cal
Fla-vor-ice light - 5 cal for two
Healthy Choice Fudge Bars - 90 cal
Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwitch - 140 fat free cal
Plums / bananas / strawberries / peaches
Keep in mind, if you stray from the path, jump right back on and do not beat yourself up!
Hang in there!

I noticed that you use eating at a Mexican restaurant as motivation. I used to use food as a reward too and then my trainer pointed out that when I do this, I'm fixating on food. She suggested using rewards that aren't food - a pedicure, a $20 fun spending spree at Target, whatever works for you. I've been doing this for a while and it works well for me. When I convinced myslef not to eat something b/c then i's get to eat later, I was still thinking about food. Now when I say no to that cupcake at work I look forward to my Saturday afternoon pedicure. Good luck!
Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I've got some cantaloupe, bananas, plums, n sugar-free jello on the ready.
And kkmc ... I'm only using the Mexican food as motivation because I've been craving it for the last 2 weeks n haven't let myself give in. I figure if I can be good for this long, I deserve it, as long as I don't go overboard.

I have a standard snack of 1/2 ounce chocolate chips melted (usually I add a spoonful of my morning coffee so the chips melt faster) and then microwaved with a chopped up banana. The resulting moosh about 160 calories but it tastes really rich. Great way to get the dessert urge out of the way.
