what is the craziest diet you have ever been on?
my mum was just telling me about this diet she did when she was young that was eating 10 bananas and 6-9 slices of bread a day she said it was popular with her and her friends im like WHAT hahaha
The lunar diet sounds pretty ridiculous to me.
In high school I ate a snickers bar and a can of soda for lunch everyday and lost weight.
To tell the truth, though, it was mostly because I was afraid of the lunch ladies, so I wouldn't buy a lunch, I'd just go to the machines.![]()
I personally have never done a crazy diet but my mother has lol. She tried the Special K diet for oh I don't know, 3 days maybe? She got so hungry her body freaked out. I told her a 62 year old woman should not eat 3/4-1 cup of cereal as a meal! She also has done a fruit diet and this weird one called "Diet soup". I guess you make this special soup and it nothing but it for 4 days? I don't know lol. I say eat right, work out and count calories lol
I tried a banana diet back in the 70s when trying to lose weight after pregnancy. It was 3 bananas and 3 glasses of skim milk a day for 3 days. I lasted two and couldn't look at a banana for months afterwards. And I didn't lose any weight either, then gained a few pounds the following week, probably from eating like I had been starved, which I had.
Anyway, I lost the baby weight and was back to normal after a year, without doing anything else.
I tried the one where you eat nothing but bananas and potatoes one day, nothing but meat the next, and so on. I think I kept it up until cabbage day.
I did the diet where you're a kid on vacation and no one remembers to feed you, and you have no idea where the food is, so you lose weight. I dropped fifteen pounds in ten days. I don't know why I was never hungry.
I've done them all! I did the Special K and lost about 10 pounds but got terrible digestive problems after that! Did the Cabbage soup and garlic diet, that is all I ate all day! I did it the first time for about 2 weeks and lost about 6 to 8 pounds a week but when I stopped put them back quicker thana wink! Did the fruit all day diet, but felt starved! Tried the not mixing carbs and proteins so I would either eat carbs all day or proteing allday (actually found this in a diet book)! I ve done soooooooo many diets, you name them, ive done them! That is why after years of unsuccesful, horrible diets I decided to go the right way! Excercise, healthy eating and counting calories!
I've done the 3-day diet.

In addition to its strict daily food prescription, dieters drink 4 cups of water or noncaloric drinks daily. "
I lost about 15 pounds...then gained it back because I was starving and I wanted food...
i dont remember ever dieting at all. i dont consider counting calories a diet.
My friend tried a pretty silly diet. Every second day she ate one pink waffer biscuit per hour and nothing else was allowed except raw fruit and vegetable. The other days she could eat whatever she wanted. I'm nut sure if it worked for her or not. I guess it could depending on how much control you have on the free days... but can't be that healthy in the long run.
I did a diet of iceberg lettuce and nonfat yogurt--first of all: ick, second of all: talk about very little nutrition.
What's the lunar diet?
Well a lot of people think the lifestyle I currently live is a bit crazy... The only foods I eat are from animal protein and non starchy vegetables.
Yes, this means I don't eat: wheat, dairy, gluten, sugar, soy, nuts, starchy vegetables (potatoes, peas, corn, carrots), flour....
Apparently the one I'm on now for the rest of my life. Fruits and vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, legumes, lean meat and fish...in other words...whole foods and little or no processed foods and organic when I can find it and it's reasonably priced. Most of my friends think I'm a freak of some kind and poke fun at me all the time...lol.
i've tried so many stupid diets... special k, slim fast, herbalife... all crap... once you realize you cant live on the diet for the rest of your life you gain weight back quickly. i have tried weight watchers which seems like it works best for people but honestly it drives me crazy to count points. what works best for me is making healthier food choices and running for exercise.
the cabbage soup diet i spent my whole life in the ladies room :)
i made stacks of soup and just had that . i have never felt so poorly in my life never again
the only diet-ish kinda thing I did was in high school and it was dont eat after 7 pm. which was kool I walked home from school 1.5 miles and then ate chicken. then nothing eles.
Not really a "diet" in the strict sense, but for most of my life I thought the only way to lose weight was to eat as little as I possibly could. I didn't restrict any one food really but I constantly ate like 2 small meals a day (lunch and dinner and never breakfast). At the end of one of these days (which rarely happened consecutively because obviously it is not sustainable) I would be like, "Yes!" I had such a good food day. And the next day when I was clearly starving and ate more I would HATE myself and think, "no wonder you're fat."
It's sad that so many people still think about dieting this way.
I've done a million crazy diets, but I'd have to say the one that almost killed me would top it out at number one. It landed me in the emergency room after 5 days because I was eating sooo little. I think I had like 2 banana's and some strawberries a day. That is pain I wouldn't wish on anybody! My mom put me on that diet when I was maybe 13... it's the all you can eat fruits and vegetables diet, but I didn't like fruits or vegetables so her plan failed. She thought I'd get so hungry I'd actually eat more fruits and vegetables. *rolls eyes* lol
As a teen I created my own version of a liquid diet. I blended a couple cups of skim milk with 2 or 3 eggs plus sweetner and vanilla for flavor. The concoction was the only thing I consumed all day.
I remember gagging on the slippery white part of the egg, that put an end to it!
(And then binged back whatever weight I lost.)
