what crazy things have you done to prevent binge eating
i literally walked out to my car with my blueberry frosted mini wheats box and fiber one bars in hand and tossed them into the trunk.
its pouring rain outside too. i literally almost ate half the box just now. i hate life.
i showed up at my neighbors door and sat around for an hour to prevent myself from binging (which happens wen im alone) once...
thrown away quite alot of mid-binge food before...makes me feel so guilty!
I tend to finish binge food before I can do anything about it. Several times, I've binged even more after a binge just to prevent myself from doing it again later (aka getting rid of the food to prevent future binges. wtf?)
haha i should try the neighbor thing.
yeah ive thrown away food once before. english muffins and butter...those are my kyptonite. i swear, i dont know what it is about english muffins but one is not enough for me.

I totally get you with eating the food that qill prevent a further binge. I think, ok i will eat this whole packet of biscuits now because that means it will be gone so it won't be there for the next time i want to over eat

I do that too! What an odd mindset.
Oh, I just now was eating peanut butter with a toothpick to satisfy the craving without eating like 3 huge spoonfuls like I KNOW I would if I used a spoon.
with a toothpick??? going to try that one. haha. although right now i havent bought peanut butter. still kinda iffy about jiffy and their salonella outbreak
i've thrown away my roommates sugary food and told them the cat knocked it over because i was afraid i would binge on it.
I've thrown away food after i was sick of binging on it because i was afraid it might happen again
When i used to live alone i've not boughten groceries for a week so i wouldnt have to fear living in my own apt and worrying about overeating...man i had it bad
sometimes still retreat to my old ways i need help
i've thrown out all the food i had in my dorm.
i've also thrown out food while in the middle of a binge (though this is a rare occurance)
i've also locked myself in the library all day.
me too...when i used to live in the dorms. same with library thing. what the hell is wrong with us..somethings up

Anyone else think that dorms are the one environment LEAST conduscive to health and studying?
Mine are loud, filthy, broken everything, pizza abounds, and alcohol even though it's not allowed... eating out is an every day occurrence and social event, etc etc.
I know TONS of people who go to the library in order to escape.
i go to starbucks to get away from home. the library too.. done that. then i see other people eating and i get angry haha
I've dunked a tub of ice cream under hot water, and then poured liquid dish soap on top of it.
I've thrown a box of cereal out the back door (on several occassions)
I've dumped out boxes of cheez-its and poured dish soap on it.
I've walked brownies down to the dumpster at my apartment and threw them in.
Dish soap solves all binges! It's just so depressing to go to such great levels.
I've sprayed food mid-binge with bug spray
Gone on drives without my wallet so I wouldnt stop at drive-thru's
Now I don't bring junk in the house because I know what it will lead to

yeah going out without a wallet, tahts another one =p
aah i just really felt like binging and i was outside with not too much money, and i bought my friend a very very early birthday present with it, so didnt waste it on binge food!
Sometimes I go for a walk, or take a nap if I feel the binge coming on
I eat low call hard candies or sugar free gum so that my mouth is occupied
and I avoid caffeine past noon so I fall asleep and stay asleep through the dreaded hours of 2 and 3 in the morning
once I started binging and got so frustrated and angry with myself that I put a piece of ducktape over my mouth (I was just really disappointed in myself)
totally backwards but...
I actually purposely ate through the entire thing and was like "HA! food! where are you now?!" Then I never bought it again. LOL. i got rid of all the food int he house by eating through it ROFL. Weird, right? but it helped because I wasn't wasting the food and I didn't feel like i was holding myself back. That one or two days of indulging myself helped me from binging.
I do binge on fruits these days though and carrots :/ Also i eat alot of thsoe fruit ice breaker things as candies.
A friend of mine had her jaw wired shut so she couldn't binge. I thought she was nuts, but it really helped her to break the cycle of binging. She's since back to normal, and has lost over a hundred pounds.
As for me? I usually give the type of food I'd binge on (pizza, cupcakes, things like that) to my brother and let him eat them before I can. It's worked well for me--though he's gained twenty pounds!
My problem is prob that I don't do anything, I just eat it all hehe. But sometimes I give it to my boyfriend or some friends to take home with them if I crave for something
i put them in the freezer so that they would be inedible.
i soak them in water
or give them to others as well
oh yeah i would not come home in the afternoon. because that when the binge really occurs
I've cleaned my bathroom, did laundry, poured soap on what I've wanted to eat, thrown food down the garbage chute, put my scale in front of the fridge, put post-it notes on my food telling me not to eat it, stayed in the library for hours studying, taken a nap, given my food to friends, and who knows what else...
