.. Nope.

i used to be, but then i reached my goals and got interested in other things (only doing the close diet watching and exercise when i need to trim a couple pounds).

I see it as how much returns you get for the work you put into your body. Getting into shape and looking nice is pretty nice returns (so is worth the effort to trim the extra flab and light work out)... but... after that, having slightly bigger muscles or trimming a body fat percent by a half percent through TONS of extra work and diet watching just doesnt give as much back. And, add to that the fact that whatever work you do will go away after less than a year if you back off of the workouts.

I guess, if i am going to put that much effort into something... i want it to last.

Nope. Weight loss is a part of my life and I intend to live my life around the weight loss, not let the weight loss take over my life.

I still indulge in less than great choices occasionally.

Just kind of curious... do you have a full time job, or go to school?

I am but its because I find it easier to diet clean and less tempting. Plus it kills me to "waste" calories which is not a condemnation on those who allow treats but just my personal mindset.

For example, some might say I'll have this (insert higher cal, not so healthy food) but exercise more or balance it out calorie wise which is cool. With me, my thought is if Im working this hard to maximize my eating efforts and exercising, I dont want at all to counteract that but granted Ive had a long 300 lb to lose journey so if anything, wanted to speed it up.

My only non healthy aspect is the occasionally salty, but I feel its not a real potential gain - just possible temporary water retention.  Otherwise its SF and FF all the way (which some would debate isnt healthiest).

That is a lot of exercise! Just curious what do you consider unhealthy foods?

I am rather crazy food wise but I cannot exercise that much. between working full time and being married, taking care of a house and whatnot, i find about 1/2 hr a day to work out.

As for the food, yes i am crazy. I do not eat fried foods under ANY circumstance; i don't touch white bread and white rice either. I eat generally only organic produce. I steam the veggies or eat them raw. I eat most a vegetarian diet and the only meat I'd eat once in a while is chicken or sea food. I eat only low-fat diary. I don't eat sweets or baked goods either. I don't eat red meat, I don't eat prepackaged foods either.

I used to be.  And then I had some very important people call me out on it, and I realized how much my so-called "healthy mindset" was really negatively affecting my everyday life and relationships.

i am 18 years old and i am currently a senior in high school, i dont have a job but am looking for one and it will probably end up being a job at the gym i go to since i want to become a personal trainer or professional sports trainer when i get out of college. so yeah this could be a job and thats fortuante for me

OMG I was thinking of starting a new post on this very thing.

I can be really bad at it sometimes, like I won't eat peas because it's not a "super-vegetable" (like broccoli, kale, brussels sprouts) and so on.  I won't eat bread unless it's whole grain AND I can see specks of wheat germ or seeds in it, won't eat rice unless it's brown, I could go on and on.

I can really drive myself crazy this way.  It's to constricting to eat like that though.  So, I tell myself that VARIETY is very important and I need to eat lots of different things, not my top-10 list of "perfect" foods.

I didn't know anyone else had this tendency, thank you for posting.

YOU AND ME = CRAZY ABOUT HEALTH! I do not even LOOK at junk food, bread, pasta, rice, fruit, nuts........ I work out 2 hours a day and still manage to make time for friends and school work too! Finally someone else as health conscious as me! I would love to know what you eat and see if you are as crazy as me! ha ha! I totally feel amazing on my lifestyle though!

Seriously you put bread, pasta, rice, fruit, nuts in to the same cateogy as junk food? What do you eat, only salad?

UD

anytime i will probably be posting more things soon so we can have a new topic to talk about.

No food is a bad food, in my view. It just depends how much of it you eat and to practice moderation. Too much of anything can be bad for you and so can too little.

.. Nope.

 ha!!!  EXACTLY ...nope.

Moderation is generally the best policy... it's possible to go too far in the direction of health. I'm trying to eat super healthy this week to make up for my last few weeks of indulgence (lunch today is a high-fiber wrap with chicken breast and salad, and a little mustard instead of dressing or mayo, with a banana for afters), but I wouldn't want to do it all the time!

It's a good thing that you want to go into fitness as a profession, because that's about the only way you'd be able to keep up as demanding a routine as yours in the real world! Most people just don't have enough hours in the day...
