Cream Cheese Wontons (SO good, NOT bad for you!)

Quote  |  Reply
Ingredients

16 won ton wrappers (I use Nasoya All Natural Won Ton Wraps)
3 tbsp cream cheese
Pam cooking spray
4 tbsp duck sauce (optional)
Fresh Chives

*I'm so happy I found this recipe, that I just had to share it - in case there is someone who likes these as much as I do* Directions

Preheat oven to 400.
Place about 1/2 tsp cream cheese in the center of a won ton wrapper. Then, after thinly cutting the fresh chive, place a small amount on top of the cream cheese. Wet your finger with water and moisten the edges of the wrapper. Fold won ton in half to make a triangle, sealing the cream in the won ton well (the water acts like glue). Moisten one corner of the won ton with more water. Bring the bottom edges of the won ton together, overlapping slightly to form a won ton appetizer shape. If you like, you can skip this step and just make triangles. Repeat for the rest of the won tons.
Place won tons on a nonstick cookie sheet sprayed with Pam. Spray won tons with a bit of Pam. It seems weird, but it helps the won tons brown in the oven. Bake won tons at 400 for 7-12 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
Serve won tons with duck sauce for dipping (optional).
Not as greasy (or crispy) as your typical fried Chinese restaurant appetizer, but a great healthy substitute when you have a craving!

I just wanted to say that I am so happy that I found this recipe, because cream cheese wontons are my absolute favorite, but I know that the ones that I eat in restaurants are very fattening. Thanks for putting this recipe up here....

I'm totally trying this on Sunday!
These sound great!  Just the kind of thing to fill a craving!!  Thank you!

Glad I could help! Tell me how they turn out for you! :)

Awesome recipe.  Thanks so much for sharing.  Can't wait to try it.
cream cheese wontons sound yummy, I will have to try sometime.

you can put almost anything into a wonton wrapper. It makes everything taste yummy and interesting. I did some really yummy spinach and feta triangle things over christmas using a similar technique.
Or you can make your own samosas using curried potato inside.
Or pretty much any leftover, mixed with an egg inside the bigger wrappers.

I don't know if it would work or less or more calories, but if you don't have pam you can also just brush the wontons with beaten egg, and this will also help them go nice and brown in the oven.

I just tried spinach + feta yesterday, it was so good! Thanks for the suggestion!
