My friend is having a brunch this Sunday & she's breaking out her crepe maker. I'm looking for ideas so...

What's your favourite crepe? Any ideas for toppings/fillings/add-ons?

I'm planning on bringing some nutella, dulce de leche and lime curd. She's going to have lots of berries, bananas, whipped cream, cinnamon, peanut butter as well.

Just looking for some suggestions... they don't have to be healthy :) You can post savoury crepe ideas if you want but we'll probably be sticking to sweet-based crepes.

Light cream cheese whipped with honey and vanilla, peanut butter, bananas. mmmmm

Bananas foster:  sautee sliced bananas with brown sugar and rum till carmelized, put in crepe either plain or with cream cheese, top with whipped cream

Cream cheese, spiced apples, drizzle of caramel sauce

Brie, apples and cranberries

Greek yogurt sweetened with maple syrup, any kind of fruit, sprinkle with granola or any kind of crunchy cereal

Okay - now I want crepes....

Ooo.. cream cheese. Nice!

This may sound lame but I used to make crepes in a pan then afterwards simply spread them with a jelly or jam and tightly roll them (like a cake jelly roll) and sprinkle with powedered sugar.  Maybe to simple but great tasting and doesnt overpower so you can still taste the crepe.

^ I'd rather do that too. Crepes are so messy when you have a bunch of fruit juice dripping out of them. I'd rather eat it like a pancake with stuff on it. And I don't like whipped cream.

I like spiced apples, walnuts and a bit of vanilla ice cream in mine..it gets REALLY messy but damn is it tasty :D

Oohh! I used to make crepes at work and this is what we did... very simple but SOOO good... cook them with a little Grand Marnier, Manadarin orange slices and top with whipped cream (regular or fat free)... Yummy!

I LOVE to make them. After a trip to France I got fairly obsessed and have made all types now. You didnt' say if you only want sweet dessert crepes, or if you want to make more everyday-meal type crepes. Since the sweet ideas have been covered, here are some pretty good meal ideas:

1. Try mozzarella with tomatoes, with a pesto spread. Amazing lunch.

2. Yellow curry with chicken, potatoes, and grapes (sounds weird, but I kept seeing people stick them into curry in Paris...).

3. Make the crepe with buckwheat flour and fill it with all types of squash, broccoli, tofu (if you like it), and sover with some low fat cheese.

-Sweet crepe: fresh off the iron at a walkup, sprinkled with granulated sugar, folded and eaten out of my hand.

-Buckwheat (sarrasin) crepe: topped with ham, fried egg and cheese.  With a pichet of cidre, and a green salad topped with a few walnut halves and a little oil and vinegar dressing.

Nothing beats pb and banana crepes with a bit of nutella too! goodness those are to die for!

My favorite are nutella and peanut butter crepes :x

Also PB & Co. has a lot of flavored peanut butters.... ex: white chocoalte and dark chocolate and cinnamon raisin...sooo good in crepes.

When I went to Toronto on a family vacation, we had dinner at a French restaurant that specialized in crepes.  I had a Florentine crepe for dinner (spinach, parmesan, maybe some mozz?) and I think I had some sort of strawberry crepe for dessert.  Strawberry banana crepe sounds divine right now...you could also try crepes with applesauce.  If you feel particularly daring, try a crepe suzette with some berry garnish.

Best of luck!

nutella!!! yum...

nanas and choc chip

nanas and honey

grapes, blueberries and raspberries

I second this...Nutella is one thing I CAN'T buy, otherwise very bad things would happen ;)

where i live they sell single tablspoon packs o nutella, i buy them for my boyfriend,  you should look into this,  he cannot have nutella around either he smiles and curses me when i buy just the single serving, imagine a whole jar

my av is a plate of all kinds of fruit with whit yogurt on the side and the creaps on the side...nothing is mixed i like mixing and choosing for each bite.

and salty,  spinich, egg mixture and ketchup.  ummm ketchup on everything.... thats my nutella

When I went to Paris I really wanted to try a crepe with nutella, but never got around to it. I did have one with turkey in it though and my mom had one with ham and cheese. I suppose you could use the crepe like you would bread and put any kind of sandwich filling in it. I've been wanting to make them for the LONGEST time, but never have. I'm not sure why. I guess I'm intimidated. Maybe I'll try it tomorrow just for kicks. Another idea is to sautee bananas with butter/non-stick spray/oil, sugar, and banana liquer (bananas foster) and put that in there with vanilla ice cream on top. You could even put some chocolate syrup on top too or drizzle nutella.....oh man that sounds good right now!

I LOVE crepes with peaches, then caramelize the tops with a creme brulee torch... and top them with whipped cream :D

as someone mentioned...crepes and nutella is the best! I had sooo many when I was living in Europe....they are also good with berry jams, cut up fresh bananas, whipped cream, and chocolate spread with coconut flakes....yummm....

nutella!!!

My favourite sweet crepes filling is honey (a little goes a very long way) with minced roasted walnut. Also, I adore ice cream (especially vanilla) on hot crepes, much more fun than whipped cream.
