cross country ComPEtitiION------ among my peers :)
AYAYYYYY! i'm doing sooo well in my cross country team- getting 1st/2nd place each time :) I THINK I'LL MAKE VARSITY
but what worries me is that i've been training longer over the summer than anyone else on the team. so would that mean others may catch up to my level over time during "official practices?"
or does everyone have a "maximum potential" that they can get up to.
i just really want to be one of the better runners on varsity, but i worry that other "veteran" members would catch up eventually after practices.
kay thanks :)
oh, i can run a bit more than 6 miles in 47 min. :D!!!!
but can anybody help me with STRIDES and going FAST UP HILLS?... i tend to suck at these than anybody else. only x-tra long distances are my specialties that are keeping me up on the "better side" of the team
Are you doing any actual hill training? Also, are you doing any cross-training?
yeah we do hills....
cross training? well, we run 6 days a week with sprints and strength training every other day
..... but i add in 4 weight training days (2 for upper, 2 for lower)
does it matter?
"does it matter?"
If it makes you stronger, it should help you up those hills faster. I've been cross training mostly by swimming and cycling. It's helping me in all areas of running.
